003 ↘ DREAM/VIDEO [backdated to yesterday]
Warnings: Ah...nothing, really? Spoilers for Madoka maybe?
"It'd be like the story where love and courage win, right?"
But it hadn't worked out that way. The witch's attacks were relentless, and it was all Kyouko could do to keep Madoka safe.
It wasn't supposed to be this way. They were supposed to bring Sayaka back, no matter what the odds were.
Her vision changed of the witch, and suddenly...it was a blue haired schoolgirl standing in front of them in front of the witch. Her hands were pressed to her face, and tears were streaming down her face.
Suddenly, her mouth opened in a scream that Kyouko couldn't hear, and next thing she knew, she fell back and onto the ground. It wasn't going to work, was it? This was only going to put Madoka in danger, wasn't it?
They had tried, and they had failed.
Kyouko struggled to get up, barely noticing Homura was behind her as she took the ribbon out of her hair. She knew what she had to do now. It wouldn't work, right?
She took her Soul Gem, and regarded it for a moment, before she smiled softly and kissed it. As she threw it up in the air, the scenery changed from what her memories had been. Now, she was in a white room, with the girl she had been fighting sitting there, slumped over.
"Sayaka!" Kyouko cried, and for a minute, she thought that she might have been successful. But as she ran forward towards her, she tried to reach out...and her hand went right through as if she was nothing more than smoke. "Sayaka!"
Sayaka moved, if not slightly, raising her head to look up at Kyouko. But it wasn't the Sayaka she had remembered; the one with fire and determination in her eyes. This Sayaka was looking at her as if she was soulless.
"...Heh. I guess I should've figured. That just means we'll go together, right?" She sat down on the ground beside her, putting her hands on the ground behind her back as she looked upwards.
"This is a twisted idea of a happy dream, God."
The dream flicked, and suddenly her Soul Gem fell down next to her.
She didn't even regard it as it cracked, and shattered.
[The dream ends as Kyouko wakes up, and she sits up and looks over at the Dreamberry. A twisted smile appears on her face, sadness and maybe a little bit of anger rolled up into one.] Guess I'm not even immune this time.
[Her hand covers the device, and the feed cuts.]

no subject
She doesn't really know about this one. But she turns on the feed anyway, recognizing whose dream it is.]
...That gem was beautiful. What a shame.
no subject
Rubbing her eyes a bit, she isn't the happiest person on the face of the planet to see her again, but hey.]
I still have it. Guess it got repaired when I got to Vatheon.
no subject
Rue couldn't sleep, so she doesn't look much better. She hadn't been expecting much when she checked the network, so this is interesting, to say the least.]
You mean that actually happened?
[She was kind of speaking in context of the dream, but huh...]
no subject
Eh, kinda. Some of it was a little bit different than the rest. The gem shattered, though, but not exactly like that.
no subject
[Not exactly like that. She can't help but wonder what exactly it was like, then, though she gets the feeling it would be rude to just come out and ask.
To pry like that.
Not that Kyouko is the poster child of manners herself, but she wants to be the bigger person here. So she just nods, acknowledging the dream as a dream, as she lets out a breath.]
Then I am glad that it was fixed, at least.
no subject
Yeah, especially since it'd be really bad if it wasn't.
[Since that's...her Soul Gem.]
no subject
Well, maybe she'll ask after all, then; since that statement has left her rather curious.]
It would?
no subject
[It's not totally a secret, and hey. Rue might take it another way or not believe her entirely. She's trolled her enough.]
no subject
Besides, she comes from a fairytale where gems with magical powers actually exist, so...maybe it's not really that far of a stretch.]
I didn't realize your life was tied to such a thing.
no subject
Let's just say I didn't read the fine print of the contract. But yeah, nothing I can do about it now...if this thing goes, I go.
no subject
Hm. She doesn't know what to make of that. She almost sounds bitter about it, which makes her think she was deceived somehow-- just like the Raven had apparently done to her.
But she nods, seeming to accept this as fact.]
Well. You've been taking care of it just fine so far, it seems.
[That much is a comfort.]
no subject
[She snickers, looking down at the device. Bitterness? What bitterness. She's over it again.] Unless ya think I can't even take care of a Soul Gem.
no subject
I never said such a thing. It's obviously fragile, that's all. [Hmpf. She adds quickly, though:] And it...it actually looks quite valuable as well.
no subject
'Course it's valuable. There aren't a whole lot like it going around. [Being a magical girl was a rare thing, after all.] Not like I'm interested in that kinda value, anyway.
no subject
...The last statement does leave her a bit curious however.]
Then what kind would you be interested in?
no subject
I'll let ya know when I think of it.
[Finally, she got hit with a question she didn't immediately have an answer for.]
no subject
[And finally, she receives an answer that doesn't piss her off. Even if it really isn't much of an answer at all...oddly enough, she seems satisfied with it.
Heh.]
Fair enough.
[She gives a bit of a yawn, though. Maybe she's just tired.]
no subject
Well, I'm going back to bed, if you're doing talking and all that.
[Stop running your mouth Rue, geez!!]
no subject
...but yeah okay fine, she will.]
Of course. [Hmpth.] I will as well. Good night, then.
no subject
No, it wasn't really anything worth thinking about, not right now. Now was just time for her to go to sleep.]
