[Ky's sitting formally at the desk in his apartment, his back straight and the cup of tea he had been sipping on set aside for the moment. This is a far less formal matter than things he's spoken of before, in many ways. He's trying to get other people's opinions for the simple reason that he's curious, and nothing more.]
Is there any one person you would say has made you who you are? Whose opinion you automatically trust, or trusted, more?
[Ky's had a lot more time to think about questions like this since he's been in Vatheon, and certainly he thinks he's learned a lot from questions that other people have asked, even if they don't have immediate or direct consequences. And Zelda's recitation of what the scientist had said, about them having to be heroes, had struck home. How did people learn to be heroes, after all?]
If so, why them? Did it just happen, or did they do something to make you trust them?
And if not, how did you work things out on your own?

But when he does respond, his expression is rather quietly fond.]
I guess not. I mean...everyone I've met has made me into who I am, I think.
Video;
Video;
...A blink. And then his expression falls, ever so slightly.]
Ah...no, I suppose not.
[His friends and family don't tend to stick around long.]
Video;
I'm sorry.
That must have been hard.
Video;
You don't have to be sorry. I met a lot of people, and they've all helped me become who I am today.
[Sure, none of them stuck around for long, but that doesn't matter.
But enough about him!]
What about you, Ky-san?
Video;
The Commander of the army I was in, before he retired, was such a man as I referred to.
He trained me, and both his judgment and his faith were guides for my own.
Video;
He sounds like an incredible person. How long did he train you for?
Video;
Although it wasn't so much...him training me. I went through the normal procedure, as everyone else did. I only saw him periodically.
Video;
Video;
It's possible that some of that came from his position, but... No. When I took over it from him it was clear that I was only so good at filling his shoes.
[Of course, Ky had been fifteen, younger than anyone else in the army, and he hadn't been leading them for the time Kliff had. And he had managed to end the war, so he doesn't have too many regrets with how he did. It's simply clear to him that he is no Kliff.]
Video;
But to Minato--]
Of course you couldn't fill his shoes, Ky-san.
[And he offers a faint smile.]
What you brought to the position when you took over was something only you could. And I am sure it was just what was needed.
Video;
But what's done is done.
Video;
You should give yourself some credit, Ky-san.
...I'm sure he would have been proud of the job you did.
Video;
I do give myself some credit.
I just give him a lot more.
Video;
That's good then. He sounds like a remarkable person.
Video;
I really don't know where, or who, I'd be without him.
