It seems as though Halloween is over, I did not understand the concept of it. A close person to me told me very little about it.

Anyone have a better understanding?

From my understanding, it is an Earth custom which originated with the celebrations of All Hallows Eve. The celebration itself seems to have been a harvesting festival mixed with afterlife worship of some kind.
