I'm deathly afraid of pigeons. Sure they look all cute and innocent and could be pretty handy 'round the job and all but they're bloody brutal.

I'm not really British. My mum was Irish and my dad's Polish.

That makes two for two then. 'Fraid it's the second that's a lie. British born and bred here. No questioning that.

[ A pause. ]

Course that's... prolly cheating as you've never heard of London before, eh?

[He's been to Neverland and his universe has Big Ben, sure, but that doesn't really count as London... does it? Anyway.]

All right. Lemme see.

My preferred method of travel is via ship. I have hundreds of pets back home who do whatever I want, whenever I want. One of the rulers where I'm from is a mouse.

[ There's a small apologetic look before he straightens up to pay close attention. ]

[ There's a small frown as he ruffles up his hair. ]

So... the bit about the mouse is true and so's the thing about a hundred pets or so, eh? What's that like?

What, the bit about the pets? Not that bad, actually.

[ A small frown though because he's wary after the mouse bit. ]

Wouldn't wager it's anything as simple as a cat or a dog, eh?

Not at all. [Axel has to think for a moment about how to go about describing his "pets."]

They're called Dusks. At least the basic ones are.

A dusk?

[ Look of utter conclusion. ]

What sort of animal's a dusk?

They're not animals, really. They're... stretchy things. You'd kinda need to see one to understand what they are.

[Because, really, how does one begin to describe a Dusk.]

[ Now he's really curious. ]

[He thinks for a moment before he reaches to fumble about and grab a piece of paper and a pen.]

They've got sharp enough teeth to be sharks, sure.
