twenty first flame: video; { I wanna slay my demons
[Just like everyone else that's been posting lately, it's clear this event isn't taking place in Vatheon.]
[It starts with several True Cross uniformed students and Amaimon in the middle of a forest some time at night. Amaimon is holding Bon up by his throat in a tight, violent grip, but Bon is yelling in spite of his predicament.
Other students are near by - Shima, the one with pink hair, face down near a tree, and Konekomaru, the smaller bald monk, holding a very broken arm.
Amaimon is also holding Shiemi up by one arm easily, as if she weighs nothing, but there's something wrong with her - a blank eyed gaze that seems to be seeing none of this.
Rin is near by, on one knee on a craggy hillside, eyes wide and a bit of blood both on his face and on his uniform shirt.]
I have no buisness with you. Okumura's the one that's pissing me off! You act all random, then you save someone's life... you have no talent, yet you save the day... I can't figure you out! What the hell are you?!
[Amaimon tightens his grip, silencing Bon painfully.]
What are you talking about? I don't like to be ignored.
STOOOOOP!
[Rin screams and stands, the red silk case from his sword falling away. He stares at the sword with angered determination written across his face, thinking of his injured, endangered friends and how they promised to help him in his endevor to defeat Satan. Their voices ring in his head...
Guys...
"You can't defeat Satan alone!" said Konekomaru.
"I'll help you, even though I can't do much." was Shima's addition.
Even Shiemi said "Rin, we're here for you."
Bon, always sounding angry, barked out "Don't forget that you're not alone!"
You were all so kind to me...
Just as that thought leaves Rin's mind, Yukio's voice can be heard crying out. The younger Okumura twin runs up in to the clearing, panting heavily from exertion.]
NII-SAN! It's a trap! Don't listen to him!
Yukio, I'm sorry... I'm no good at lying and tricking people pRin says as he takes the sword in both hands] So I'll use my power for kindness!
There's a flash of blue, and the sword comes apart with Rin's telltale flames appearing over him. Amaimon's expression finally changes, from momentary surprise to sudden glee as he drops both Bon and Sheimi.
He lets out a cackling laugh at Rin, while Bon just stares in shock.]
COME! I'll play with you! [Rin barks at the other demon.
Amaimon charges forward with unbridled glee and the fight between demons begins, Rin swinging his sword wildly while Amaimon throws punches and swipes. They take to the air, Rin's flames unchecked and catching everything close on fire. It burns with a brilliant blue light that Amaimon declares is "So beautiful!", at least until Rin jumps on his back and slames the blade in to him.]
BURN TO ASHES!
Amaimon seems over taken, but finds an advantage in yanking Rin's tail hard, causing him to let go and drop to the rocky ground again. Amaimon lands across from him, burning momentarily but really no worse for wear.
They start up again, but it's becoming clear that Rin isn't keeping himself in control at all. The longer they fight, the more wild and animal like he becomes, his voice taking on a beatsial growl beneath his words. The angrier he gets, the more his flames rage, and even his ears, teeth and claws are becoming closer to that of a demon's.
Eventually Rin gets the upper hand on Amaimon and slams him in to the ground, causing an explosion of flames in his wake. Much of the forest is on fire, and even the Earth King is struggling to keep himself on par with this child turned raging beast.
And then, it get worse - as Amaimon attempts to block a hit from Rin, he takes the blade in both hands and the sheer friction and strength of the struggle begins to make the blade crack near the hilt. It's at this point that Rin slips even further in to his demonic nature, and while it seems to come with a massive boost in power - enough to cause a white-hot flash of flames that blasts Amaimon away with a shriek - it's also causing him to almost completely lose his humanity.
Rin persues Amaimon to where he fell, only to find that Mephisto was there, with a giant cuckoo clock hanging in the sky. Rin charges forward with abandon, some how knowing that his oponnent is in there and he wants the bastard out. The cuckoo clock is sliced in half, Amaimon dropping to the ground and fleeing like a rat from a sinking ship.
Rin lands, but there's nothing except flames around him, and Mephisto above. He snarls, growls like an angered feline about ready to tear claws in to it's elusive and annoying prey. His eyes are warped, teeth sharp and large, and everything about him teeming with unbridled power and rage.
He barely looks human anymore.]
My my, what a handful you are, my little brother...
[There's no love in Mephisto's voice, only a vague hint of annoyance at the situation. Furious that he can't find his prey, Rin goes after Mephisto, but an easy dodge sends Rin back down to the ground.
There he just starts swinging his sword about wildly until it strikes a rock, and by doing so makes his own power backfire on him so hard he gets sent flying. He lands near where the students and Yukio, now joined by Shura and Izumo, stand staring both in fear and in awe.
Eventually Rin stands, but he doesn't see his friends, he sees prey, enemies, something to attack, he stands there for a moment, growling, snarling, drooling - nothing like the goofy, stupid Rin Okumura they thought they knew.]
Nii-san...
RIN!
SHIEMI!
[Shiemi goes running forward, but as soon as this beast turns on her she stops, frightened of what she's seeing.]
It's too dangerous! Stand back! [Yukio yells as he and Shura dart protectively in front of her. Shura's sword is at the ready, and Yukio pulls out a single pistol, aiming it at Rin.
Rin practically howls and goes charging at them, but Shiemi breaks out from behind the other two.]
Rin! RIN!
[She embraces him, and Rin stops. The flames don't burn her, and for a second, clarity comes back to the boy.]
Sh... eimi...
It's all right. It's all right now.
[The sword falls from Rin's finger tips, and clatters noisily to the ground...]

[Rin lets out a strangled cry and jerks out of bed so hard he loses balance and goes rolling right out of it, knocking his head on the end table and dropping his SFC to the floor.
He manages to get on his hands and knees, putting one hand to his head with a pained groan, panting heavily and looking pale and stricken.
For a good minute or two he's like that, trying to get his breath back while silmultaniously trying to get his head together after that.
He eventually lets out a sigh and sits up, rubbing an arm across his slightly damp brow before he finally notices the SFC and the light on it.]
... aw fuck.
