29 - Soya - FORWARD DATED TO THURSDAY AFTERNOON | Video
[ So at around noon, the forest quadrant might feel like there's a complicated knot of magic in it. Its not aimed at anything, and really its just a great concentration of it that shrinks and shrinks and finally gets steady. It doesn't take that long, even.
So its totally fine, right?
The video starts with just a view of disrupted foliage, some of the bubble's brand of sunlight filtering down. There's the hilt of a particularly odd looking sword at a weird angle that catches the light, a weak glow dying out before a black gloved hand fumbles and crosses the screen-
And if you're younger than 13, the video stops there. ]
... Expected expansion, although particular rate was unexpected...
[ Duke's voice sounds a bit odd. Maybe a little dazed? Well, it could explain the trail of red working its way down the edge of Dein Nomos that's on the video. ]
... space between field of dispersion and field of concentration ought to have a way to be more stable, even under conditions...
[ Plip! That lovely mark on the video would be a drop of blood. Is there an uncomfortable whistling noise to Duke's breathing? Maybe. ]
... Barriers produced within field of dispersion are next to useless...
[ There's a few more plips and splats of blood dripping off that sword. Sounds like Duke doesn't realize he's recording to a section of the network, although its good that he managed to fumble a filter away from some, isn't it? ]
Likely should have started with smaller experiment...
(OOC: Putting this up early- this happens on Thursday, and is Duke's somewhat-haitus for the con weekend. I'll be moderately busy on Thursday so getting threads mostly started now! Warning that he's hurt himself fairly badly-)

// VIDEO
Duke? What happened to you? Are you ok?
// VIDEO
Expansion at greater rate caused small concussive blast...
[ Drip- drip-
Nope he's not okay. ]
... Don't think can get up.
// VIDEO
Where are you now? I can come and help.
// VIDEO
[ He tries to find where the SFC is and nudges it a bit and... There's more clearing-ish looks to the spot he's at. Nothing too defining about it, but there is bits of sparkly something in the grass. ]
... Can't focus to help find..
// VIDEO --> ACTION
[She packs a first aid kit, and a few extra items before making her way to the forest.]
// VIDEO --> ACTION
An uneasy forest silence probably helps her find where Duke is - critters being quiet because something scary happened. A bit of roughed up forest, and that odd clearing with Duke settled against a tree, sword wedged up in his ribs.
He blinks vaguely in her direction. ]
// ACTION
Duke, what happened? [Before touching him, she looks all over him, looking first for the obvious wounds.]
// ACTION
Project... exploded.
[ More or less, and his breathing is struggling a little and sounding awkwardly wet and whistle-y. ]
// ACTION
I cannot believe you are alive after that... [She reaches for it, but hesitates to touch it.]
If I take it away, you will start to bleed heavily...
// ACTION
[ Duke blinks at her. ]
... Could try to, while you get bandages...
[ Unfortunately, the design of the blade is that its not stopping him from bleeding too much. ]
// ACTION
[She opens the box of medical supplies she brought.]
Probably just enough to get you back to the city. I would have to rush back to the clinic to get more. Do you want to try to remove it, then?
// ACTION 1/2
[ His funny looking sword is a weird shape with no flat and its not particularly helpful.
It will take him a moment to get his hands on it so he can get it out of his side without cutting a chunk out of his side or putting his palms or fingers on the edge. Its awkward, and he'll look over at her before he moves it. ]
// ACTION 2/2
[ Oh, ow.
That. Almost hurt more than when he realized it was there-
He doesn't swear, because Duke doesn't swear, but he drops the blade like it was hot and struggles not to clamp a hand to his side and...
That coughing sounds horrible. ]
// ACTION
Duke, what happened? Did you hurt yourself worse? Oh God...
// ACTION
Hurt.
[ He just has blood where it shouldn't be, and trying not to make much of a noise made him cough. ]
// ACTION
Should I try to bring you home? Can you move? Or do we need to call Zelda or someone else?
// ACTION
Cannot... focus enough to make easy. Could try...
[ He's a stubborn old man, and this probably is a bad idea. But he carefully starts pushing himself to his feet, arm keeping those bandages in place. ]
// ACTION
[She does her best to support him.]
Maybe I could try to take you to the clinic?
// ACTION
[ He needs that support, struggling to get enough air as he leans a bit more than he would like against her.
Sorry he's going to get An's cloths bloody- ]
... Help... might be...
[ A really good idea. His steps are getting a little smaller, and his leaning on An is what's keeping him from wandering too awkwardly off track. ]
// ACTION
Good, let us try to make it there in one in one piece, alright?
[And slowly, she will do her best to guide him to the clinic, where she will be able to take proper care of him.]
// ACTION
And hopefully, with how Duke is leaning on her, that his slip from consciousness within shouting distance of the clinic won't be too much of a surprise. He managed to stubborn his way through walking farther than he ought to, probably. ]
// ACTION
Apparently they seem to make it there with a more or less concious Duke, who is free to just collapse once she has him safely in a bed.
For his comfort, she won't let any other doctor treat him, unless strictly necessary. It's just her and maybe a couple of nurses to assist An.]
// ACTION
And that's really nice of An. He isn't comfortable about people, and, as terrible as it is, she's seen him in... well, a worse mental state, which matters a bit more to him.
... even with that, its Sunday before he's awake and... staying that way for more than a few minutes at a time. ]
// ACTION
And she'll be right there, checking his vitals when he wakes up.]
Morning, Duke.
// ACTION
[ Give him a little longer to blink and focus and get things to work better.
... Why does his mouth and throat feel this disgusting. ]
... not Friday morning. ... ?
