My name is Serph. What else do you wish to know regarding the Defense Force?

I would like to know what sort of duties the Force carries out, as well as any other pertinent information. It is only briefly mentioned by name in the welcome brochure.

Our role is to keep life peaceful here. Sometimes we defend the city from outside attack. Sometimes there are violent conflicts between residents, which we step in and help resolve. We patrol the city, so we can respond quickly.

[He pauses, in case there are any questions at this stage.]

It is not so different from what I have become accustomed to doing, back where I am from, then.

What sort of threat attacks from outside? [And how, he can't help but wonder.]

The island was once attacked by an "Emperor of Darkness", which had... strange magic and form.

I believe there had been another large scale attack on the city before my arrival. These threats are external to Vatheon so we prepare, to react when they arise.

[Saitou probably wouldn't have known how to react were he given further description of the aforementioned. "Emperor of Darkness" sounded fair enough a title to be wary of anyway.]

Do they occur very often? Although regardless, it is good to be prepared for any situation.

I believe so. I have not been in this place for too long, so perhaps it may be that I do not know enough to ask any specifics. ...ah. I do have one more question. Are there positions or need for anyone of medical knowledge and ability in your Force?

[A nod. As far as Serph's concerned, combat without any kind of medical assistance is akin to a death wish.]

Every combat team has people with healing or medical abilities assigned. Some fill the role of both combat and support, if that is within their ability to do so.
