W-What is this?! I'm... n-n-not supposed to be able to even feel cold!

[ Or at least, have an extreme resistance to it. A rare sight for Mithos. He's wearing his usual outfit, sure, but now he's also wearing one of Shing's coats. Yes, Shing, he stole it from you and it's big on him, but at least it covers him. And there's a blanket on over it. ]

I hate... I hate that coral... [ He wraps the blanket around tighter around himself. ] K-Kohaku, fix the air conditioner! Or I'll blow it up!

[Oh. Oh no. The nurse told him that only hugs could fix this, but Lloyd doesn't think he's ever seen Mithos hug anyone. Mithos is in trouble.]

It's not the air. Mithos, where are you? I know how to fix this.

S-Stupid... W-where d-d-do you think I am!?

[ He pans the SFC around the room. ] At home.

Yeah, but where is your home?

[That's, you know, kind of an important detail.]

I l-live with Kohaku.

[...not exactly a helpful answer. Although, if it came down to it, Lloyd could probably call Kohaku and ask. It would be faster if Mithos told him, though.]

Where does Kohaku live?

Near Colette.

[Okay, good enough. Lloyd's already on his way. He'll just have to trust that once he gets to the apartments, either Mithos will have told him which room is his, or he'll be able to use his awkward grasp on sensing mana to feel out the angel's mana signature. He's going to find you, though, Mithos. You can definitely count on that.]

So you're on the same floor as Colette? What room?

Three.

[ They're neighbors, Lloyd. ]

[Whoa, wow. Lloyd never realized Colette and Mithos lived so close to each other. And if Lloyd hadn't moved to the Winespring in, he'd be just down the hall from Mithos, too!]

Okay, hang on, I'll be there soon.

[Racing through the city, it only takes him a few minutes to reach the Yutopil apartments. One, two... three! Lloyd knocks on Mithos's door.]

The door's open.

[ Mithos calls through the door. He's wrapped up in blankets on the couch, still shivering. ]

[That's all the invitation Lloyd needs. He lets himself inside, eyes immediately zeroing in on the blond. He needs only a moment to take in the blanket and the shivering.]

Oh man... Mithos...

[There's a moment of hesitation, then Lloyd seems to firm with resolve. He knows he needs to act fast, before Mithos has a chance to figure out what he's doing. Somehow, he has a feeling that the half-elf will resist - but he needs this and Lloyd knows it. Striding across the room, Lloyd drops down onto the couch without warning-

-and abruptly wraps his arms around Mithos like he's Lloyd's best friend in the whole world.]

Don't act like you--

[ Wait a minute. Why is he-- oh. Oh. Mithos freezes up, and it isn't long before Lloyd's grabbing him. Mithos starts squirming immediately. ]

What are-- get your hands off me, you--

[ But suddenly... he feels less cold. He feels better, actually. He's not shivering, and the tenseness is starting to slowly ebb. He stops resisting, but there's no thanks. Not yet. ]

[Lloyd doesn't let go even when Mithos squirms, and he keeps up the hug even after the other boy stops resisting. He'll keep hugging for as long as Mithos will let him, because he knows that once he lets go he'll probably lose any other chance.

He'll explain, though, so Mithos knows.]

The curse is making everyone cold unless they hug other people.

What a dumb curse.

[ He squirms again. ]

You can let go now.

[He loosens his hold a little when he feels Mithos start squirming again, but he hesitates before letting go.]

Are you sure? Was that really long enough to warm you back up?

It was good enough.

If you're sure...

[Pardon Lloyd's doubt when he lets you go, Mithos. You just don't seem like the kind of person who would hug as long as you should in a situation like this.]

So you're feeling better, right?

Y-Yeah, I guess... I'm an angel, I have more tolerance of the cold than a lot of other people.

[Lloyd knows all about the tolerance of angels, Mithos. He knows full well that not feeling something doesn't mean it isn't still affected them. The fact that Mithos felt it at all says something, too. Lloyd gives Mithos the look that deserves.

Still, this is probably the best he can hope for right now. Maybe he can check by another time to make sure Mithos is doing all right.]

If you get cold again, you can always call me, you know. I won't mind.

[ If he knows anything about curses, then yes, he probably will get cold again. But he won't say that out loud, or Lloyd will probably never leave. ]

Fine.

[Oh Mithos. You think Lloyd's going to leave? Just like that? He just barely got here! He's not about to do a hug-and-run.

He stands up, looking around with interest.]

So, this is your apartment? How long have you been here? I thought you were living with your friend, Kohaku.

I am. She's not here.

Oh.

[Lloyd looks around at the apartment again. It does seem to have the feel of a feminine touch in how it's decorated. That would explain it.

He turns back to Mithos and asks unashamedly-]

Is Kohaku your girlfriend, Mithos?

[ Mithos was paying no attention to Lloyd for a while, wondering if he was ever going to leave. But the moment he asked that... ]

No, you idiot human!

[ Totally not blushing, nope. ]

She's Shing's!

Whoa, hey, I was just asking!

[No need to get so insulting.]

How was I supposed to know? Besides, guys don't usually live with girls unless it's something like that.
