Okay.

[Rin is irritated again. What else is new.

But this time it seems to be the fault of the current curse, so it's an irritation he can share in.

His thought bubble is floating next to him, innocent looking but displaying very... crude, childish drawings , the current one looking a bit like a stick-figure of Rin strangling what... may or may not be the thought bubble itself.]

There's a lotta weird shit here, but could some one please explain what the hell THIS is?

[He points at the bubble, which causes it to move away from him as if avoiding whatever rage he might just unleash on it. He twitches noticeably, tail swaying like an angry cat's behind him.]

This thing is annoying.

[he tries to point at it again. It moves. Again.]

... really annoying.

[he turns to stare at his bubble. The drawing changes. This time the little stick figure him is stabbing the bubble. His tail twitches, and he reaches out to try and poke it. It dodges away. Apparently only his bubble is actually afraid of him. With good reason, though. It can't be destroyed, but you'd be scared of Rin, too, if you were in that poor bubble's position.]

Why the hell won't you sit still?!

[he yells at it and turns as it darts behind his head. Forgetting the video is even on, he stands, his back and swishing tail all that can be seen for a moment before he lunges at it much like a cat chasing a moving light. This game of demon and mouse-bubble continues for quiet a while before Rin knocks his SFC down and the feed shuts off for a few seconds.

When it comes back on he's holding the thought bubble triumphantly, squeezing it like one might squeeze a bag of marshmallows. The image this time seems to have Rin as a knight or some other sort of hero, having "slain" the thought bubble. Really, the damn thing just gave up and went with getting caught instead of trying to avoid him forever.]

... yeah so. What is this thing?

[Here is an unamused-looking Maka with a similar bubble floating by her, though it doesn't show much except flashes of what looks to be a similar event involving the bubbles occurring before and a small is that a real tail? It's cute...]

It's a bubble that displays your every thought. Yeah. I'm serious.

[The tail comment in her bubble is just going to get a raised eyebrow. He's too focused on his own bubble and her explanation to really make a big deal of it.

Well. Outwardly at least. The bubble betrays some of his thoughts by having the drawings change to an obvious stick figure him and stick figure Maka (very poorly portrayed, by the way) looking at his tail with a question mark over her head.]

... yeah I can see that now.

You can try putting something over it so nobody sees. It's been a while since the last time this happened, but I think someone was successful putting a towel over it and taping that shut.

[She bats at her bubble and forces it down out of view for a second.]

.. so I'll have a floating sheet ghost beside me instead of my thoughts?

[and the bubble reflects this odd idea. Rin thinks about it for a moment, staring at the thing.]

Actually that does sound better...

Anything's better at this point, don't you think? [Besides, last time the bubble was shaped like my soul--

[looks around, grabbing a towel off the bed and tossing it over the bubble]

Pretty much, but hey--even this is annoying, it's not really as bad as it could be--[she grabs a pile of books from out of view and puts them on top of the bubble to squash it down again.] A whole species swap happened once in my early days here.

[Those poor bubbles, so abused.]

Okay, admittedly it wasn't like that for everyone, but it did happen to a lot of people. Like I turned into a troll and my friend turned into...a talking pony.

[...The memory kind of makes her giggle.]

[...Cough. Brief flashes of violent struggles flicker into her bubble before she squashes it back down.]

Insanity...means something different to me. But no, I'm sorry to say this isn't a hallucination. It's okay, curses don't always affect you, sometimes they skip you entirely.

[He doesn't seem... entirely convinced, but he's not going to bring up the insanity idea again.]

... guess the last one missed me. I didn't get sick when everyone else was.

Uh-huh, me too! My roommate did, though, that was...a new thing for him and me, he's never been sick before.

...He didn't even know how to sneeze.

[That actually got a laugh from him. He's not sick often but he can't imagine not being able to sneeze.]

Well, he's a death god, so I guess he...um...hadn't learned the sneeze reaction? You can't really teach things like that either so we were both stuck until the curse got over with.

A god that oversees the protection and passage of souls to the afterlife! A better term for it would be the Grim Reaper, I think.
