[The video feeds turns on just in time to catch a loud crash and for the camera to be completely covered in black material. Then the darkness lifts, showing a view of a backyard, complete with a splintered, broken wooden fence and Equius, stalking a blue chocobo.]

[Does anyone remember when Darkleer was a chick and was small enough to ride around on Equius' shoulder? Those days are long past, and it's an almost fully grown, towering feathery asshole that is ducking and weaving, all while warking joyously, as Equius chases him around the yard with a saddle.]

Aha, you think I'll give up that easily? You're wearing this saddle whether you like it or not!

[Equius lunges, Darkleer kicks him in the chest, Equius flies backwards and crashes into the fence, sending more splinters into the air. It's hard to tell who is having a better time here.]

[Equius pauses though, and picks up his SFC when the small voice says that. He is remarkably unphased by Vivi's appearance; really, he just looks like a carapace to him.]

Gysahl Greens, huh? Do they sell those in the Nostalgia Quarter? I've been growing him greens here, but I think they're just the regular kind.

[Vivi would probably be thrilled to meet carapaces. Since he meets all sorts of species at home, it doesn't even really occur to him to wonder what Equius is, too preoccupied thinking about chocobos.]

I-I haven't checked, but maybe... I think they're kinda like treats for them. At home that's how you get close enough to catch the wild ones so you can ride them.

I didn't realize there were some here! [And he's a bit enthused about it, because hey, a piece of home.]

Oh, yes, you should talk to Lea; he has all kinds of chocobos. That's where I got this feathery sillyface.

[The feathery sillyface in question strolls up behind Equius and flops his head over his shoulder, looking down into the SFC at Vivi.]

To Lea... Okay. [Vivi nods like he's accepting a mission, and then shyly raises a hand to wave at Darkleer.]

Yeah, we have them all over the place. Yours is really cute, mister!

[Darkleer warks happily and nudges at the SFC with his beak. Equius pushes him out of the way.]

Heh... thank you. And you don't need to call me mister. My name is Equius. And you are?

[Flattering his chocobos will get you everywhere, Vivi.]

I'm Vivi. It's nice to meet you! [Vivi will happily flatter his chocobos, because hey, they really are cute. The longer they talk the less shy he gets, too.]

What's his name...? It's probably really useful to have a blue chocobo in a place like this.

His name is Darkleer. Er... there's another troll around, who looks a bit like me except older, who is also named Darkleer. The chocobo is named after him.

[Yeah, someone didn't think that through when he was naming his pet.]

I think it will be, once he's more used to being ridden. Right now he just splashes around and plays in the water when I take him up on the island.
