The signal's not that reliable on this particular transmission. Something's wrong with the SFC, and there's a good chance it'll just die out altogether. But in the brief flashes the little device manages, one thing could be seen as clear as day.

Crimson stains on the ground. Blood, splattered everywhere.

Krrrzzttt--

Finally, the picture stabilizes for a few, agonizing moments, showing more of the sight on the ground, trailing up past the stains to a large white lump, fur idly bristling with the light wind. It continues to pan up, following the form.

And it stops, on a familiar face, foam drizzling from the side of the Elder's face and eyes holding just a fraction of life. He stares out at nothing, pupils clouded and dilated, giving the faintest breath of a moan...

Silence then reigns until the picture violently cuts out.]

[Good afternoon Vatheon! Does everyone know what time it is? That's right, it's time for Syaoran to interupt you via mass text.]

I was wondering, would anyone happen to know who I could speak with about joining the Defense Force?

[There's a short pause between the first text and the second.]

And if there's anything else that I could do to be of help to anyone, then I'll definitely be more than happy to do it. Taking a little vacation has been nice, but it's much nicer to be helpful.

[In other words, sitting around is definitely not his style, and staying at home and helping to take care of the house and doing the dishes is getting really, really old really, really fast.]

[Well, so much for feeling better finally.

Ioder looks a bit worried when he comes up on the network this evening. He's fidgeting, tugging at little strands of blonde below his ear and looking for all the world like an anxious child waiting for news of something.]

Ah... just... in case anyone is looking for her, my cousin Estellise seems to have left. Her name is no longer on the residency list and I can't get through to her voice mail.

[He forces a smile, though, as if trying to convince himself of something that he's struggling to believe is true.]

But... I'm sure it's just temporary. Yuri came back, after all.
