Well, the only type of bow we know how to make is a Two Rivers Longbow. If we use the wood that's considered to be the best for it [They're going to use that wood. You can't convince them not to.] and make it as close to what we'd make it back in our world as we can, there'll be less slack in the string than a different longbow. And we usually cut the staves about two hands taller than the person who'd use it.

[Does it make more sense now?] We don't really know how to make any other kind of longbow. Maybe you'd be able to use a string with more slack, but apart from that I don't think we'd be able to change a bloody thing. Even archers from other places in our world have trouble drawing our bows back all the way and keeping it there if they can manage that. Few can.
