[ Buttons are randomly pressed, partly in curiosity — because surely, this ridiculous starfish shaped thing isn't a phone? — but mostly in agitation. The video function is activated, offering Vatheon a shaky view of worn leather and denim, followed by a softly uttered string of cuss words when he notices the flashing red 'recording' light. He swings the camera so it's facing him and as a result, anyone browsing through the network will be met with an image of an unamused, sodden hunter. ]

Oh c'mon. What the hell is this? Freakin' let's all live under the sea?

And yeah, I read the damn brochure, listened to the spiel and quite frankly, I'm not buying what you're sellin'. So whatever lesson you're trying to teach, you can damn well be sure I ain't interested. Save us both some hassle by sending me home already. I already ganked Zach's ass, don't make me gank yours, too.

[ Dean just scowls. He's not too hot on the 'where the fuck am I?' thing, you see. Been there, done that and all. He's convinced he's been sent here by some asshole angel, especially considering the fact that this wouldn't be the first time they've made such a dick move. And being under the sea and all, it's not as though they were willing to offer up a couple of mermaids to sweeten the deal. They'd just gone and dumped his ass in another freakshow without so much as a warning. Just peachy. ]

[ However, given his initial reaction, Dean's far from worried about this. Inconvenienced, sure. Pissed, definitely. But worried? Nah. He just shrugs, having long accepted the number one rule of being an angel was to be a great big douche. No matter. Game's not over. He's just going to holler for his personal taxi ride outta this joint. Brace yourself, Vatheon. ]

[ Dean attempts to wait patiently but after a few minutes he gives up. If Castiel had heard him, he would have appeared pretty much instantly. Maybe this place was blocking his mojo or something? Wouldn't be the first time. Guess for the time being, Dean was on his own. ]

Wow you talk like Gamzee only angrier...

[A dark featured, silver haired teen pops up on the video, long ears readily visible and a shining pin in the shape of a bird attached to the front of his hat. Or maybe he's wearing a dark grey windsock on his head, it's hard to tell.]

Um, I dunno any Cas but everyone's kind of stuck here 'cause of scientists and coral and stuff. It's not really going to help to get mad.

[Just some friendly advice from one alien to another.]

Uhmmm...are you okay, mister? You can get out of the bubble and go up to the island if you want! If you really don't like being under the sea. But it's really really cold up there right now.

...Who are you even talking to, buddy?

[ After peering closely at his screen, Dean just blinks at the guy's appearance but refrains from commenting. Probably not a good idea to be an asshole right off the bat. ]

Everyone's stuck here, huh? So it's not just me, then. Uh, and why are we here? What do they want us for?

[ They'd explained this already, of course. But he'd brushed it aside as though it were some bad joke. Dean suddenly fumbles for the map, studying it with more interest. ]

[ Dean glances up and through the top of the bubble. Damn, they really were deep in the sea — as crazy as it sounded. There was no way he could swim back to surface. ]

Yeah, just dandy. [ He just clenches his eyes shut tight for a moment before exhaling. ]

Something about... the coral needs energy, or something. I don't really know much about it. Zelda does, but she's asleep. The coral does that sometimes too, put people to sleep for a long time, but they usually wake up if they don't get sent home.

I didn't really want to leave so I haven't thought about it very much.

[Well, he didn't want to leave before. Barry's presence makes him want to reevaluate that decision. He glances Dean over.]

You look Human. Are you from Earth?

I'm afraid no one is getting 'zapped' out of here. For all anyone knows, attempts at teleportation might simply land you outside of the bubble, with the weight of an entire ocean bearing down on you.

[Needless to say, the teen-aged boy with gold eyes and the weirdest set of stripes in his hair has a dim view of that idea.]

A lesson would imply we're here to learn anything. Rather, I think someone else is doing the learning--at our expense, of course, seeing as we're essentially part of an experiment whether we like it or not.

[She frowns a little.] That was a silly question, wasn't it? Arriving here isn't ever much fun, nuh uh. But you really can go up to the island! There's an elevator. It takes a long time but it gets there. We can't leave the island though, there's a sort of barrier a little way out to sea...

People have managed to leave sometimes! We just don't know how. It's more like they disappear than an escape.

Seems like certain kinds of magic don't work down here, either, so any zapping would have to be all you.

[ Dean's still not certain. The whole thing reeks of something foul but for the time being, he's just going to go with the crazy. At least until he can find out a little more about this place. ]

[ He'd encountered alternate dimensions before, but other worlds? ]

[ Despite the circumstances, Dean smirks. ] Don't worry about it. Spewed a couple of those out in my time.

[ There's a brief pause as he processes when he's just been told. More like they disappear than escape? That can't be good. However, it was worth checking out the island. Barrier or no barrier, he'd try calling for Cas from the surface. ]

[ Dean quirks an eyebrow in surprise, his tone, incredulous. ] You ever try, I don't know, finding a way out?

Guess you got a point there. In my experience, whenever I've found myself in some other place, it was because they wanted to ram a lesson down my throat.

[ Like how the world would turn to shit thanks to a decision he may or may not have made in the next few weeks. ]

Experiments, huh? That's a new one. [ Dean takes a moment to size the teen up before shrugging. It's not like he needs to hide from the feds or anything here, so giving his real name out makes no difference. ]
