He raised me to be their king, yes. From the beginning I had the ability to speak to Pokemon, so he would bring me abused, mistreated Pokemon in an attempt to convince me even as a child that there were no good trainers in the world. That Pokemon had to be liberated.

I never got a chance to tell him how I felt. By the time I learned that it was all for his own selfish intentions, he had fled, and I was left on my own. But it was thanks to Hilda that I even learned all this, and that I learned not all trainers are bad.

I still have issues trusting them. I still believe that Pokemon are unique, beautiful creatures that should never, ever be exploited for personal gain. But I've learned, slowly, that some trainers have amazing connections with their Pokemon that go far beyond mere friendship.

If... nothing else, that makes up for some of the hardships I faced growing up.
