[It looks like Rin is finally getting out of his slump. He actually looks cheerful today, and there's a good reason for that.

When he appears on the network, he's wearing an interesting outfit that might be familiar to some, grinning like a dope. The glasses and the scarf came from the Nostalgia Nook, but the jacket, gloves and boots are more worn and faded, giving the impression that he likely snagged them from his father's closet rather than finding them elsewhere.

(He did find them elsewhere. And no, he didn't ask permission to borrow them.)]

Check it out! I found these glasses at the Nostalgia Nook, and they totally look like Dad's! Just in time for Halloween, right? I mean if I can't actually get to Paladin here I might as well dress up like the best Paladin ever for Halloween!

[Rin you are a Class A Dork.

He holds his arms out, doing a little turn with his sword on his back, thinking that he looks awesome but really he's just being silly. But the glasses do look kind of nice on him, oddly enough.

But eventually he decides that's enough for now, and he takes the glasses off and sits back down in front of the SFC.]

Okay but really, that's not what I wanted to talk about. I was actually wonderin' if anyone wanted some like... serious cooking lessons. See I offered to teach Minako, and I know there's a few others who've been interested, so I figured I'd offer properly and all that.

Just let me know - if I get enough I might even start an actual class! That'd be cool, yeah?

[Sigh. Well if Rin is comfortable with how things are, Yukio's gotta figure that nothing's gotten out of hand.]

[What's that? Is Yukio sounding concerned?... No, not really, but it's has to be better than arguing.]

[He is but he isn't? Really he hasn't figured out where he stands on the issue. He's still getting used to Angelo as a boss, and dealing with adjusting to Zelos no longer being there.]

[Even if it's not really concern, Rin still appreciates hearing that from Yukio.]

... how's uhm... how's the clinic goin' so far?

[He might be more concerned if it were someone different... but it's Rin. When it comes to matters like this, he's perfectly capable of handling himself.]

Fine. It's not particularly busy, so I've been spending some time familiarizing myself with the layout and available supplies.

[More or less. Doesn't keep him from getting in to trouble completely, though. But work is work and he has held down a job for almost an entire year without incident.]

Yeah, it doesn't usually get too busy there. 'course when somethin' big happens it probably will be.

... you uh... still like sashimi, right?

[That was a random question, Rin.]

[That's one heck of an accomplishment for Rin considering his previous track record.

Yukio nods and quirks an eyebrow.] Yes.

[Trouble still finds him, but he actually has learned to walk away from most fights before throwing a punch.

Recent throwdown with Vanitas not withstanding but in his defense Vanitas is an insufferable asshole.]

Good. Then I'll make you some for tomorrow, 'kay?

[This is... sort of an apology for how he acted at the fair.]

[Just keep being a reasonable human being, Rin. Maybe one day Yukio will actually acknowledge your personal growth!... Maybe.]

Ah... Thank you. That sounds good.

[And that is not an apology, but this seems like a reasonable way to restore some semblance of peace between them for now. Rin cooks, Yukio doesn't say anything dickish...]

[He's certainly trying to be. And as much as Yukio dislikes the idea of Rin's boyfriend and girlfriend, they're as much to thank as anyone else in Vatheon that he's friends with now.

Probably more so, really.]

[This is better, really, and Rin is willing to work with it, even if it means ignoring deeper issues.

He just wants his family back...]

[Kinda depends on which brother you ask, doesn't it?

Yukio just flashes one of those little smiles of his. The irritating one that gives no clues as to what he's thinking, but that means their latest brotherly conflict is not being taken into account during the current interaction.

Probably. You can't really keep it until Halloween.

I'm sure he wouldn't mind lending it to you if you ask when the time comes.
