Good evening, Vatheon.

I do apologize for my extended absence from the airwaves. I'm sure that you missed me nearly as must as I missed you.

Many of you know that I have a deep and abiding interest in science. I heard that sometimes people go into these comas, and when they wake up, they went back home for a while! So... I thought I'd try it.

I have to admit, lying in bed, motionless, for a couple of weeks was pretty restful. But I don't think I went home. Or actually went into a coma. I remember every agonizing minute.

But it certainly did give me a chance to reflect on many choices I've made in my life. That's something we should all make time to do, from time to time. Reflect on the past, and you learn lessons that you can apply in the future.

I have little mini comas all the time, but I think the more common word for them is cat nap.

That's some pretty good advice, though.

Ohhh, gosh yes! A nice nap in the afternoon, just a good solid fifteen minutes, is the best thing ever, wouldn't you agree? I'm not really much of a cat person, but those are great.

Comas are just sleeping for longer than anyone has reason to. When you go back home, you disappear from Vatheon entirely.

You can learn a lot from cats. [night pls]

Comas aren't something you can will to happen. Only when it's most inconvenient for you and everyone else around you do you fall into one.

[ The first sound Cecil would hear is Barry's laughter. It's light and full of a casual amusement. ]

Did you really think that would work?

What made you think you would be able to trigger one of Vatheon's comas just by lying still?

....Oh. Well. [He laughs self-deprecatingly] I guess I got that wrong, huh?

[He pauses] Well, I guess I got told, yeah. Maybe it was a little silly to try, but you never know if you can do something until you give it a shot!

[He laughs, too, but with a bit of embarrassment] I figured it was worth a shot.

Well... I didn't have any reason to think otherwise, did I?

[ Barry's teasing just a little. He can't imagine Cecil had any fun, lying there for days. ]

I'm surprised I didn't tell you earlier, actually! But yes, I do have a name, and it's Cecil.

We got to talkin' and it didn't come up. But hey that happens sometimes, y'know. So nice to sorta meet you I guess!

For one thing, it hasn't happened that way to anyone else.

Thanks! [He seems to think Barry is totally serious] Being inquisitive is all just part of my job, as a community radio journalist. And no one's ever said I wasn't dedicated to my job.

It was very restful! Sort of boring, though. I don't think I'll do it again any time soon.
