Generalizations are quite useful when dealing with a lot of data and little time.

[gosh. kids these days. he relents, in the manner of one that is used to having to cater to the less observant people around him.]

I have noticed that this place is without precedence and can be considered "supernatural", by way of teleportation of unknowing parties, both dead and otherwise, to its borders. It is a self-sufficient country, though it calls itself a city. It exists under the water, but suffers none of the pressure one would assume, and it has little to no interference with the aquatic life surrounding it. The locals are unhelpful, purposefully. The information given is stale and uninteresting, purposefully.
