[Mitsuhide is sat beside a pond, upon which swims his Lapras, Miyuki. There is nothing peculiar about this sight, but what lays behind them, now... that is odd. A large, modern city stretches out a little way behind the pair.]
[There is no sign of any movement. Abandoned?]
A curse? I am not fully certain it is. The island has changed, as you can see, as have our communicators, but... Vatheon itself is still the same, and there is no change in the people.
[He shakes his head.]
Miyuki will have to do without her ocean swim, today, I think.
[At the mention of her name, Miyuki swims over as close as possible, reaches out, and grabs a lock of Mitsuhide's long hair. It's only a light, playful grasp; the samurai merely laughs quietly in response, and looks away from his device and over his shoulder at her.]
I must confess, I have never seen anything like this before. It's rather incredible, isn't it? Were it convenient I would explore further, but there are things I must do below, today.
[It's his birthday, but he's not going to tell you that. 8|]

It's the first time in Gorthan's life he gives anyone a birthday present. And the person in question? Had better be there. Lest Gorthan change his mind about this whole "altruism" thing really quickly.]

[He tilts his head a fraction, tone of voice containing the question; he is unsure what the 'indeed' is in response to.]

[And suddenly Gorthan feels really ridiculous, standing there as a poor, temporarily Coolflamed native - obviously off-screen - holds his present to Mitsuhide. Ugh... Evronian conquerors aren't supposed to do this.
Of course, Gorthan plans to dismiss his temporary slave as soon as Mitsuhide appears.]

[He bows his head.]
I came only for Miyuki's sake. As there is no ocean, right now, it was pointless to remain when there are things to be done.
[And likely visitors to greet.]
Were you heading for my home? I am apologise for not being there right away.

[As much as Gorthan dislikes waiting, this can be an exception, he supposes.]

[Mitsuhide is travelling down to Vatheon by this point, so he cannot demonstrate it. He merely nods instead.]
The village I found myself in when I stepped onto what was the island was solid, whole. No illusion.
[He hesitates a moment, and then adds:]
There were two islands floating in the sky as well, if you can call them that...

[It appears that Zelda is headed up to the island herself now to take a look. She knows Link is likely to go exploring, so she'd best beat him to it.]

[He shakes his head a moment after that, still smiling.]
No need for sir. Just Mitsuhide is fine; I have no right to any titles.

[She looks vaguely amused at the feed. If someone is formal to her, then Zelda can't help but be formal in return!]

[Mitsuhide is on the elevator back down now, and is leaning against the back of it. He looks looks thoughtful.]
There is something in the air... whether good or bad, I do not know. Right now I merely feel the urge to explore, but...
[An awkward laugh.]

[He recalls the announcement that Motochika made the other day and he's aware of the date - he took special care to remember that at least, even in light of all these unusual transformations the island had underwent.]
I'm sure Gracia's eager to see what's going on as well.

[Come tomorrow, Mitsuhide fully intends to explore the city to his heart's content. At the mention of Gracia he sighs a little, but does not stop smiling.]
Oh, no question of that. She is always eager to explore new places, regardless of the danger involved.

[Mitsuhide tilts his head, regarding the other for a moment, and then smiles softly. He is already in the elevator, heading down, but is more than happy to help with such questions.]
I am Akechi Mitsuhide; it is an honour, and no inconvenience at all.
[A nod.]
Where to start? Hmm... the island is the only place where one might see the sky and feel the wind here. It is reached via what they call an 'elevator,' which can be found in the North-East quadrant attached to the city. Usually it is very quiet. There are two forests, a ruined village, a lighthouse... simple, perhaps, but a true blessing to all of us here.

So that is the usual status of the island, then. A place where you can go and and feel outside. I see. But you mentioned that now it's cursed.

[He sighs, lightly.]
Yes, indeed. The landscape is now completely different, to say the least. Such huge buildings... it is like a massive ruin. There were small ruins beforehand, as I said, but most of the island was covered in forest and grassland.

I see. Forest and grassland sounds like a more gently landscape than these ruins.

[He would be shocked only if she didn't know. Mitsuhide tilts his head, and says, only lightly teasing:]
Are you going to be one of those who wish for some of my time, today?

I won't take up too much of your time, even though it would be wonderful to spend the whole of today with you!
[ She leans into the SFC and looks like she's hiding the world's biggest secret. ]
You have to follow my instructions, father! On your birthday, I'm going to take you to what the locals told me was a scavenger hunt! And when you reach the end, you'll receive my special gift!
[ Oh, now she stands upright and pats proudly at her chest. She knows Mitsuhide likes games just as much as she does. Let's see how fast he wins at this particular one ~ ]

[ She holds back a giggle and clears her throat. In a split second, the young woman's expression turns from silly to serious. ]
You start off with a riddle! If you find the place the riddle is talking about, you'll find something there that will lead you to the next place! You'll keep on doing this until you reach the end! [ Gracia's facade breaks; she looks as excited as she sounds. ] Isn't this fun?
[ She clears her throat again. ]
The riddle is; it's a place where you can buy someone else's past to be in your present.
[ Gracia claps her hands once, and waves at her father. ] I know you can do it! Good luck, and I'll see you at the end!
