...You got a minute? [Yeah, we live in the same apartment and all and even if you're just in the other room, yeah, I'm going to do the douchebag thing and call you anyway. So there.]

...um, of course. What's up?

[That pause is naturally because you are in the next room and he's sort of glancing over wondering if he should just walk in.]

The ceiling, Roxas; what else? [You can just walk in. He's leaning in to peer around his door and see if he can spot you looking back.]

[Right. If that's how you're answering, he's rolling his eyes, shutting off the SFC, and walking over.]

There's a lot else besides.

[Like the ocean, for one. And then, you know, the figurative stuff.]

[He chuckles and shuts off his SFC as well before he takes it off and tosses it onto his bed.]

But the ceiling's closer to us. [After a moment he flops onto his bed, arms crossed behind his head, and then nudges his chin towards the wall in front of him where a nice black and red dartboard has been set up.]

Whaddaya think? Pretty cool, right? [By the way, this totally isn't what he wanted to talk to you about, but he'll just...transition to that later.]

[Roxas wanders a bit into Axel's room, taking a glance around before following the gesture to the dartboard. Well, honestly it's more than what Roxas has done with his own room.]

I think it depends on how good you are.

[Yeah, he's pretty sure you didn't call him up to talk about your new dartboard but he can wait a little.]

Oh, please. I'm the best at this.

[He grins and then sits up.]

You sure? That looks like a hole in the wall.

[There probably isn't one, but he has to tease.]

You want a hole in your eye?

[It's all said in good humor, though. He picks up a dart from his side table, but doesn't toss it just yet. No, he'll just...sit here for a while, twiddling it in between his fingers.]

Ouch. I'll pass on that.

[He watches Axel fiddling for a moment and then decides maybe it's time.]

What'd you wanna talk about anyway?

[He looks up from the dart and then after he shrugs he takes quick aim at the dartboard and tosses it, sending it smack dab in the middle.]

I was just curious, was all. Did you know Lea at all?

[...nice shot. Roxas goes over to sit down on the bed near Axel.]

Not really. We only talked the one time.

Oh. [Once? Huh. With the similarities between Roxas and Ven, Axel thought that Lea would have at least talked to Roxas more than that. He stares at the dart he tossed for a beat before he flops back down on the bed again to stare up at the ceiling.

To be honest, he's not even sure why he would call Roxas in here if he doesn't even like talking about himself, let alone his Other, but...perhaps in some distant part of his mind he'd like to anyway.]

...Well, he's gone now.

Yeah.

[Roxas kind of figured that's who he meant by 'mini me.' He's not sure what's going through Axel's mind about it, but it definitely seems like he wants to get some of it out.]

...you miss him any?

...Well, it's your other half, isn't it?

[In other words, he guesses that he does. He's just not sure.]

I can't miss anything, but-- [Shrug] --I guess I feel like there's something missing.

...I know I'll miss Sora when he goes.

[There's no 'if' about it in his mind. One day Sora will get the chance to go home, and he'll take it.]

He's... like family. I guess Lea's the same for you.

Mm. [To be honest, Axel would rather Lea go back home than have to put up with all of this down here. It's just--He knows his Other and he knows that being cooped up just isn't for him. He doesn't know if Lea really is like family, necessarily, but he supposes that that's close enough.]

...Were you busy? [He doesn't want to keep you if you were. He just likes having you around, bff, that's all.]

Nah.

[The host club finished up for the day a while ago... but even if he was busy, he'd make time.]

I'm all ears if you've got anything else you wanna get off your chest.

[About that host club thing, dude, he's going to be keeping his eye on you. We don't need strange people following you home or anything. :|]

Hm. [He thinks, then with a raised finger,] Don't think just 'cause Lea's gone, I'm gonna be a softy and all. Get that memorized, 'kay?

[You mean besides you?]

Talking to me'd make you a softy?

[Not that he'd really expected Axel to take him up on it. It's not his style.]

[...Shhh.]

It might. You do have that baby-ish charm about you that would make it hard not to get mushy. [He shrugs and then reaches over to grab another dart from his table.]

Baby-ish? What's that supposed to mean?

I don't really know- [That would be why he's asking.] -but I don't think I like it.
