[Video] Murder #3 - Hubert Oswell - Sept. 20th

[The man looks angry and his voice is strained as he tries to keep it even. The image is close-up to prevent any of the background scene from being transmitted.]

I'm relatively new here, so I'm not sure of the proper channels but this is serious enough that I'm telling everyone on the network. I've found another body.

[He looks pained at having actually said the word 'body'.]

There seems to be a serial killer here in Vatheon. This is the third occurrence in a week and the circumstances surrounding this latest death are similar to the previous ones of a man named Jacob, and a small girl named Bianca. Everyone should be extremely cautious.

The latest victim... [His eyes travel off-screen and there is a moments pause before they dart back to the communicator.] ... is Hubert Oswell.

[A third body? Well, this case certainly is livening up things around here!

The response comes from Kimblee rather than Archer, but that's hardly important now.]

It would certainly seem as though we have quite the case on our hands. Where did you find the body?

[He's doing a little investigation on his own, but this is more or less to keep his detective skills honed. Archer isn't in any condition to go around investigating in his own body, at any rate.]

[He takes a quick look around to get his bearings. He hadn't though too much about where he was yet. The sight of the body and discovery of it being Hubert had pushed those details out of his mind.]

An alley. Maybe two or three blocks from the plaza. Do you know anything about what's going on?

I've only just arrived recently myself. I spoke to Miss Zelda about the second body found, however. I'm afraid I don't know much more than you do.

Can you do me a favor and examine the body? Don't touch it until someone with homicide investigation experience shows up, but could you tell me if there are precise cuts in the body? Like a surgeon or doctor operated on it?

[That's quite understandable; it does take most people awhile to get used to investigating crimes like these. Unless you're crazy or sadistic. Or both, in Archer's case.]

Give me a moment.

[The communicator flips off for a minute or two. If this man spoke with Zelda, then that was good enough for Malik to give him information. He goes to make a second, closer inspection.

Another video comes through.]

The cuts do seem to be made with precision. Hubert must have been unconscious. There's no way to do that with a person who can fight back.

[Archer waits patiently enough, examining the circles in Kimblee's hands. This is so weird. He can't wait to go back to his own body--

Ah, right, back to the investigation!]

Of course. That's an excellent point - the killer must have found some way to subdue the victim first. Do you think it was possible that the cuts were made after the victim was killed? Perhaps strangled first, then "operated" on?

I don't know.

[He closes his eyes as the questions posed to him bring unpleasant mental images.]

For his sake, I hope he was before that monster started on him. Were the others also found just dumped onto the streets like this?

[Archer doesn't say anything to that; he's not really used to dealing with people who are bothered by things like this.]

I don't know about the first, but the second was found in an alley as well. The same sort of cuts were found on her body.

[His face hardens with determination. His desire to help find answers or the person responsible increases beyond his dismay at what's happened to Hubert.]

There's a white sheet left here with the body and an odd smell. It doesn't smell like death, I think it may be some kind of cleaner.

Cleaner... They know what they're doing, then. Obviously they'd want to get rid of the evidence, but I didn't think they'd be this thorough...

[Hmm.]

I'd suggest warning everyone you know to be careful. This is an experienced killer - most likely they went uncaught in their own world. It's possible that they'll slip up, but that isn't something we should rely on. The only thing we can do for now is try to figure out who could be behind this and attempt to keep it from happening again.

I will do that.

I don't suppose there is a list of those individuals in Vatheon with medical knowledge?

Not that I know of, but if you find one I would like to see it.

Damn.

I wasn't counting on it but I thought since there's such an extensive residency list - there may be one for those people who are also able to provide medical care.

If I learn anything else, I'll let you know.
