[Video] Backdated to the day before the event

[Good morning, Vatheon! Normally, Link would be out and about - but, well, the weather isn't great-looking right now. Instead, he's settled against a window, the blah weather visible outside.]

It's been kind of gloomy, huh? [And not just because of the weather.] I think we should do something to cheer everyone up - like the masquerade. Me and Yukiko were talking then, and - lots of people know how to do things, huh? Like play music, or cook things, or do magic. And it'd be fun seeing things from other worlds! So...

[Deep breath.] How about we do a talent show? Only people can cook things and there'd be lots of activities and things to do - and there's a holiday coming up where people can dress up, right? [Killing two birds with one stone, man.]

It might be fun - something nice to do after the stuff that's happened.

[Oddly, he doesn't mention Johnny's prowess with the flute. There's some problems there Sola hasn't had to nerve yet to try and resolve...]

I like the song of storms? And Zelda sang this one song when she was making me again...

[He looks far away for a moment, trying to remember it.]

[Johnny what have you done.]

Was it Zelda's Lullaby? Or the Song of Time? They're both really magical. [He'd hum them, but if that's not it, he doesn't want to throw Sola off...]

No, no, it's like... Hold on.

[He closes his eyes for a moment, pursing his lips as he tries to remember, then begins humming quietly. It's hauntingly familiar yet completely different all at once.]

[Link listens silently, frowning gently in thought. And then he lifts the ocarina to his lips, doing his best to imitate the song Sola had just hummed.]

[Fumbling a bit, Sola reaches for his own ocarina and joins Link in playing. While he usually falls easily into the harmony of a piece, with this he seems to keep playing the melody. The song is his, the sound of his being, even if it's derivative of his original's.]

[It definitely sounds better with Sola playing the melody, and Link finds himself harmonising instead. After a moment or two of playing, he lowers the instrument carefully.]

It suits you. I don't know how, but it does.

It's kinda like it's my song, right?

[He's in quite a good mood now. Hearing your own personal song can do that to a guy.]

Uh huh! Now you have a song like Saria and Epona and Zelda. [Da da da daaa! You learnt Sola's Song!]

Does that mean you can talk to me from far away with that song if you play it?

[Because that would be kind of way awesome!]

[Ooh. That would be.] I don't know, only Saria's Song did that... Epona's Song called her, and Zelda's Lullaby did a whole lot of things, but I never got to talk to her.

[Although maybe that's a side effect of the whole sharing a body thing. Huh.]

Hmm... and the ocarina didn't get all glow-y when you played it so I guess not. That sucks.

Uh huh. It'd be nice having your own song. [He brightens a little, though.] But Saria's Song never made someone be alive! That makes yours much better.

[What? He's totally not blushing.]

If you say so.

[Oh, he's grinning. He sees that blush there.] It's true! Saria's Song is really nice, but yours is really magical.

I guess so!

D'you want to go to the park? We can play more music.

Yeah! I'll meet you there!

[And off she is like a shot, clicking off the SFC with an excited flick.]

[Music times in the park! If that's not a cure for sad things, he doesn't know what is.]
