[Video] Welcome to Vatheon - 004
Lunaday, Shadow-Decan 10, ND2018
[Well, it's that time again, isn't it? Wet clothes and confused looks were popping up all over the city, after all. Might as well lend them a hand!]
Well hey there, new people! I'm Guy Cecil, and I'm one of the members of the Welcoming Committee. Wet, tired, and confused? Don't worry. It happens to everyone.
If you haven't figured it out already, you're in an underwater city called Vatheon. It won't be on any map you're familiar with - suffice to say, you're in a completely different universe right now. Get comfortable, because hey, you might be here for a while.
There's a nifty place in the plaza called the Welcoming Committee, for anyone that's looking for some more information. You should be able to pick up a brochure there, which will explain pretty much everything you need to know - a lot of work has been put into making it as thorough for you guys as possible. Or, if you'd like, feel free to ask questions here! We have plenty of people who are more than willing to lend a listening ear for you, if you need it.
Go grab a towel or two to dry yourself off, check out the clinic if you've found yourself here fresh from battle, or find something to eat at one of the cafes or restaurants around the plaza. Get something to drink at the bar, if that's what you need, haha. Don't worry - nearly everything is free of charge around here! I look forward to meeting you all.
[The blonde seems to switch gears for a moment, leaning back in his chair and putting a finger to his chin.] Now: this applies for everyone, no matter how long you've been here. I'd love to hear your opinions on the matter, especially seeing the amount of people that have been trickling into the city.
How different is Vatheon from your original homeland?
Has it taken a lot of adjustment, or have you felt at home here from the moment you first dried yourself off in the plaza? And if you're one of the few that has spent a considerable amount of time here, what is some advice you'd give to our newcomers?
[OOC: Hey, WC members, threadjack on the newbies as you feel fit!]

Similar in terms of barrier; unfamiliar, this particular type. Forest is similar enough, although without monsters. [ The closest he'll get to 'fairly comfortable'. ]

Interesting. I take it the barriers from your world serve a distinct purpose?
no subject
Preventing monsters from entering areas. Commonly used over cities.

It bothers him that he's alone, though. None of the other Replica's were anywhere that he could see...had he failed? Had he let everyone down?
He takes a deep breath, forcing himself to think about something else. He doesn't want to focus on that. Not yet. Instead he goes to find some way to dry off. Keep himself and his mind busy. It's not like he could do anything about it. Not now.
A short while after his arrival--Five, ten, twenty minutes? He didn't know, he'd lost track of time--he starts fiddling with the device he'd woken up with. He was mostly dry, now, and was using this as a means to further preoccupy himself.
That is, until he hears Guy's voice. In that moment he freezes, nearly dropping the communicator as he tries to process what he just heard. Guy's words don't register--and for a split second, it feels as though the world's spinning. In Luke's mind, he still assumed himself to be dead. To have failed at neutralizing the Miasma. But Guy and the others should be fine. They should be back home, headed to stop Van with Asch. Had Luke messed up somehow? Had he hurt his friends? Had he done something wrong?
An uneasy feeling settles in his gut as he fumbles with the device, finally managing to turn the audio on. ]
Guy--!? Guy, what...[ Luke hesitates. He sounds panicked and worried and uncertain. ] Why are you here?

That voice--
Wait.
Wait.]

--Luke?!?
[There's a mix of muffled shuffling sounds as Guy jumps from his seat and scrambles toward the door.
It's Luke.
Or at least, it sounds like Luke.
Damn it all, though, he is going to go check with his own two eyes.]
Luke, where are you right now?? Describe what's around you, or turn on your video.

Sorry, Guy, he's still trying to work this out in his head. He will turn on the video, though, which gives a great view of--Yep. It's the Plaza. ]

[Aaaand chuckling now.] I think that's the norm around here. Not many races seem to be able to live underwater like this.

Hmm. I take it that you haven't had much of a problem getting used the way the city works, then.
[Well. Outside of the curses, hopefully.]

It takes a few minutes for her to absorb a good deal of it, because what is this thing called technology? The island didn't really have any to speak of. But once she gets the hang of it, she reads through the information at her leisure and it starts to make sense. Only not.
This is another world? That raises a raftload of questions.
How did she get here? Where's Selphie? Is the one boy she can remember clearly from her childhood by some miracle around here somewhere? Or the one she... can't? Kairi's abnormally quiet for a long time before she feels like she won't make herself sound like a complete and utter moron before speaking up. ]
I see.. thanks for all this, Guy. I'm Kairi. It's nice to meet you.
[ Uhhhh. ]
Well, there's one major difference; we live by the sea, not in it. It's a a small chain of islands. And um, well... I don't really have any idea what I'm supposed to do or where I'm supposed to go.
I'd really prefer to go looking for my friends. They haven't been home in a long time.
voice; (This is rather late, I apologize!)
I can't guarantee your friends are here right now. But hey, have you tried looking around the broadcasts on the communicator? Everyone who's currently located in the city should be listed there. Perhaps you'll find someone you know. [He's well aware of the urge to locate friends and acquaintances. But there was only so much that could be predicted with this city, and the rate of people that came and went were, sadly, not something that anyone could explain.]
Until then, I recommend you find a place to stay. Has anyone directed you to Brad yet?
