[ There's an abrupt noise that vaguely sounds like a sniffle. Seconds later, and it's clear that someone is crying. A very male someone. Charley's voice is muffled by the way he's bowed over, face pressed close to interlocked hands. ]

My God: I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and...failing to do good, I have sinned against you whom I should love above--

[ At this point, it's clear his words are strained. Tears? Hey, it takes a real man to cry. ]

--whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend, with Your help, to do penance, sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin...

[ There's silence now, aside from the weeping. And of course, no one can mistake Minea's rather loud meow in response. A pause, and the voice is much clearer this time - full of sadness, exhaustion, and loneliness; a certain someone has disappeared from the list. ]

Have mercy, please. Master, where did you go? I can't be here without you. ... Amen.

If you do regret your sins as you truly seem to, then I'm sure that He will have mercy on you.

[ Oh no. This is so embarrassing. He tries sounding composed, but it's not working too well. ]

I didn't mean for you to hear that... [ A pause then. ] Thanks. It's all I can do for now.

It's all any of us can do. But I hope your grief will pass.

Maybe. [ He's been waiting a long time for that to happen! ] I need to find something else to do with my time.

That's what I've found to be most helpful for myself.

[ Don't dwell on the mistakes you've made when you have to keep pushing forward, and make more decisions. Just try not to make them here. ]

There are things here to do, even.

Really? [ Rather lightheartedly, and then, his voice is softer. ] I haven't been to Mass in some time, but I suppose those sorts of things don't exist here.

... What would you suggest?

As far as I know there isn't that sort of organization to anything, although I'm a practicing Catholic myself.

If you can fight there's the Defence Force. If you like meeting new people there's the Welcoming Committee. I'm sure there are other efforts -- like the health clinic, for instance -- or if it's not covered you could create one.

I didn't think there was anyone like that here. At least, none I was acquainted with. But it's nice to meet you, even under these circumstances...

[ There's a long pause. ]

I'm not sure I would have the proper time to devote to something I started myself without help. I do know enough about fighting though.

I've met a handful of other people who are, and it's nice to meet you as well.

I have not been here all that long, but if you wanted help getting integrated into the Defence Force I would be happy to offer my assistance. Or in any other matter.
