[ There's an abrupt noise that vaguely sounds like a sniffle. Seconds later, and it's clear that someone is crying. A very male someone. Charley's voice is muffled by the way he's bowed over, face pressed close to interlocked hands. ]

My God: I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and...failing to do good, I have sinned against you whom I should love above--

[ At this point, it's clear his words are strained. Tears? Hey, it takes a real man to cry. ]

--whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend, with Your help, to do penance, sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin...

[ There's silence now, aside from the weeping. And of course, no one can mistake Minea's rather loud meow in response. A pause, and the voice is much clearer this time - full of sadness, exhaustion, and loneliness; a certain someone has disappeared from the list. ]

Have mercy, please. Master, where did you go? I can't be here without you. ... Amen.

[Despite coming down with a bad case of the flu, Madison hears Charley's voice not from the SFC but from the next room over. Even when he's gone, Johnny hurts him.

She opens the door slightly, wrapped up in a blanket and calls out to the vampire weakly.]

...Charley...?

[ Mid-prayer, and he suddenly realizes just how wet his face is. It's embarrassing; if he had the strength, he probably would have blushed. Charley doesn't look at her, eyes still tightly shut. ]

I'm sorry. I wasn't thinking—

[ His shoulders shake just a little. He wants to be strong, but he's finding it difficult to do much else beyond crying. ]

How are you feeling?

Don't apologize, it's not your fault.

[She walks over and puts a hand on his shoulder, trying to comfort him.]

[ Maybe he rubs a hand across his face this time, managing to look at her when she touches him. ]

I can only hope that he's safe.

[A slight exasperated sigh.]

What did you do, accidentally kill him by dropping an anvil on his head? I mean, really, if he's dead, he's going to come back. Death isn't exactly permanent in this place, no need to cry your eyes out like a baby.

I—I didn't kill him. [ He wipes at his face, expression a lot more composed. Almost cold. ] He's gone. He's never coming back, and that's worse than knowing I couldn't save him.

I want to believe that. [ The words, however, are broken by his crying again. What she says hits a little too close for comfort. He puts his hands over his eyes. ] But I feel so...lost.

[ Does she ever get that feeling. Her overall expression shifts to something more gentle, and her tone is weighted with the empathy she feels. ]

I know. I do, too. But we have to believe we'll see them again.

And lean on each other until one way or another, we meet our loved ones again.
