[Whoever is in the center of town at the moment might experience a blue speedbump on the ground. The little starfish communicator pops open next to him and the feed opens to the side of Jade's head as he grumbles and lets out an irritated groan. Staring up at the.... sky(?) Jade sat up and gave a look around to his surroundings, then to the little item on the ground next to him.

Frowning, he shook out his soaked hands, understandably confused as to why he was soaked from head to toe. Tataroo was entirely dry save for the river and he hadn't fallen into that. However, the bigger concern was where he was. This didn't look remotely close to anything he knew, which was saying a lot for a man who'd traveled the world. He certainly didn't like the looks of that sky or that... coral in the center of town. After a minute, he stood, ignoring the little device that had been next to him and tried patting himself a bit dryer as he examined his immediate surroundings for foes.]

How peculiar. Is it possible I was brought here, or am I dreaming...?

What Island?

Oh, so you two've met already! That makes things easier. [He grins widely at Zelda.] I told him a bit about Vatheon but he's got questions about our escape attempts so why don't you fill him in while I get our guest some spare clothes and make something hot to drink.

[Zelos shuffles off to do that, leaving Zelda to hopefully be distracted by explaining everything to Jade. If so, mission accomplished.

What, you think he was helping Jade out of the kindness of his heart? Yeah right.]

[Zelda regards Zelos a little suspiciously before motioning for Jade to sit down if he wishes. It seems like she was doing work of some sort on the coffee table before their arrival, something about time travel. Unlike most people that catch a glimpse of Zelda's notes, Jade might actually understand the contents.]

Well, I suppose Zelos will be making the tea, then. Please, sit down.

[Jade stays standing, though he does give her notes a glance of curiosity. Time travel would be tricky, and only theoretical in Auldrant, really. But it was interesting neverthelesss.]

I'll be fine standing, I'd prefer not to make such hospitable people's couches wet.

[In truth, he preferred standing to sitting. Suspicious as always, jade didn't like to be any less than absolutely ready in new territory.]

If you are certain. A thorough discussion of this place can take quite some time, though.

[She gathers up her things, though she leaves a few notes out.]

For one thing, I am fairly certain Vatheon is in a state of temporal flux. The way that it draws people from different points in time and sends them home without anyone from other worlds ever noticing the difference... well.

[The princess shrugs delicately.]

No. I don't think that most of us do. Unfortunately that doesn't change the reality.

[It only takes Zelos a moment to return with a big fluffy bathrobe, another towel, and a set of casual house clothes for Jade to wear while his usual set dries, in case he prefers that over the bathrobe. The Chosen hands the neatly folded pile towards the fonist.]

Here ya go. Bathroom's down the hall. I figured you might actually wanna be dry before all the explaining. Just bring out your wet clothes and I'll run 'em through the laundry.

[Jade listened to Zelda briefly before Zelos was suddenly there. He nodded to him and took the offered clothes. The pants were revealed to be just a tiny bit too big and Jade Wasn't about to be pantsed by gravity, so he opted for the bathrobe, leaving the houseclothes folded up in the bathroom as he brought the wet, folded things to Zelos save for the boots.]

However, it might be best for the boots to just dry in the bathroom. They're steel-soled, so that might not do well in any device.

[Washers and dryers don't really exist to him.]

[~~Pantsed by gravity, are you calling Zelos's butt big?~~

While Jade was in the bathroom, Zelda glared at Zelos slightly with a "Just what do you think you are DOING here mister" expression. She doesn't want some pretty man in her house wearing a bathrobe, Zelos! Let him stand around wet! She smiles again once she hears the bathroom door open.]

The laundry devices in Vatheon seem to be extremely sturdy, so I would not say it is a cause for too much concern. Zelos is the expert, though.

[Zelos is her chores bitch.]

He simply gives Zelda a placid look at her suspicious expression and siply turns when Jade reappears to take the offered.]

Even so, I wouldn't stick steel in it. Drying in the bathroom is fine. I'll get these done in a snap!

[With that, the redhead flounces off to go do laundry, well aware he can still hear everything from the little nook where the washer and dryer are but not be seen.]

Jade nods in thanks to Zelos and heads back over to where Zelda was, still standing calmly in the robe.]

You were saying you thought Vatheon was in a temporal flux? Constantly or in spurts? And does that prevent more than one of the same person coming through?

[No Jade, no... Zelda is so not comfortable with this. She doesn't look directly at him as she speaks, belatedly recalling his face without the glasses. He's almost as pretty as Duke is. Standing there in a bathrobe. Probably with nothing underneath it since his clothes were soaked through.

Life is suffering.]

I believe it is a constant state. It's not unheard of for an entire area to hold to different laws of time - in my world, we have the Temple of Time as an example. Thankfully, it does seem to prevent multiples of one person coming through so far. The matter is difficult to study without being able to actually leave and observe the effects. Some people have been sent to their homes and pulled back to Vatheon with their memories intact, though. According to them, no time passes in their homeworld while they are gone and they do not recall their time here.

[ Not too far off from the center of time, a familiar Fon Master Guardian was making her usual round through the town. She had a couple of small things in her arms seeing that she was currently living by herself and she also had to keep an eye on the Fon Master as well.

When she spotted a familiar uniform, she stopped in her tracks. Was that who she thought it was? The girl tilted her head before walking forward and closer to the uniform to make out the person. When she was within hearing distance, she called out. ]

Colonel?!

[Jade is trying to somehow dry himself off from his sudden and curious drenched nap when he hears the exclamation. For Luke and Ion are alive and apparently Anise is trotting about here, too. He turned to face her, wet and a tad surprised-looking.]

Ah, Anise. Good to see you're well.

[Way to think of him naked, Zelda. None of this is Jade's fault. Jade, for one, doesn't seem to notice her awkwardly staring around.]

Odd. Is there a specific reason for being pulled here? Is Vatheon looking for a specific time to pull someone from? Or is it just random from being in flux?

[She's starting to relax a little, since they're on one of her favorite subjects.]

Actually, though it seemed random at first, the longer I look at the situation the more sense it starts to make. Every last person who has been pulled here has been involved in something large in their homeworld. I almost wonder if this place runs on the energy of people's fates.

Possible. It'd explain why the dead can be brought back to life here. After all, death is the ultimate fate, so they say.

However, why would it send people home if it feeds off of them. It's possible it gets overfed and has to release some of the energy; then when it releases too much, it has to draw people back in.

[This isn't so terrible. He seems to understand what she's talking about at least, so the bathrobe situation is ignored as she resumes looking at him properly.]

It's difficult to say. The coral - supposedly the thing that draws people here - was split, so it may not be regulating itself properly anymore. Heavens knows that its method of "communication" is completely unclear. The only thing it manages to communicate with those curses it throws out is that we are at its mercy.

[ Leave it up to the Colonel to remain as calm as ever. She wasn't even surprised at his reaction to her calling him. She assumed he might have been informed about this place or he might have met everyone else from Auldrant that was here. She could only deduct that much for the time being. ]

The same as ever Colonel. When did you get here?

I'd like to know what's expected of me. If I've been dragged here, I would assume I'm either here for a reason or I've been accommodated somehow for the inconvenience.

[It's an expectation, but Jade treats it as just an add-on for the unexpected trip. More likely than not, Jade's not counting on that expressly.]

So I've guessed. I hear accommodations are free. Am I expected to just select somewhere to live and bunker down there?

How bad are the curses it uses?

Not to get too comfortable? How so?

Pretty fucking bad. [Zelos comes back in the room sans laundry on his way to the kitchen to make drinks, the washing machine a distant rumble in the background.]

They do things like make us ill or mess with our heads. The last one before you got here had a stupid bubble flowing us around showing all our thoughts. Judging by all the information we've been able to gather, it looks like the curses aren't just from the coral but some kind of experiment put into motion by whoever built the bubble, so we're basically glorified lab rats.

[His language gets a scowl.]

Essentially, yes. But I do believe that it is the power of the coral being utilized to carry out these curses... even if it might actually be Vatheon's administration controlling it.

[She waves a finger at Zelos.]

And watch your language, honestly.
