[Whoever is in the center of town at the moment might experience a blue speedbump on the ground. The little starfish communicator pops open next to him and the feed opens to the side of Jade's head as he grumbles and lets out an irritated groan. Staring up at the.... sky(?) Jade sat up and gave a look around to his surroundings, then to the little item on the ground next to him.

Frowning, he shook out his soaked hands, understandably confused as to why he was soaked from head to toe. Tataroo was entirely dry save for the river and he hadn't fallen into that. However, the bigger concern was where he was. This didn't look remotely close to anything he knew, which was saying a lot for a man who'd traveled the world. He certainly didn't like the looks of that sky or that... coral in the center of town. After a minute, he stood, ignoring the little device that had been next to him and tried patting himself a bit dryer as he examined his immediate surroundings for foes.]

How peculiar. Is it possible I was brought here, or am I dreaming...?

[He's kind of amused; he's seen a lot of people come and go.

But now he just nods.]

We don't have to do anything but touch the coral occasionally. If we don't, we get sick. We think it keeps the barrier around us powered.

A little bit ago. I've been attempting to find out more but aside from just being wet and meeting a few people, I'm no better physically than I am when i first arrived.

They claim that they kidnapped us to keep their city from sinking but that seems suspicious to me.

There's an island, if you go up the elevator! Oh but don't try getting out that way. I did swim out as far as I could, just out of curiosity. You can get pretty far, but you can't leave.

Even if you could, how would you know where to go?

There's no formal process, but there are various apartments available. You can, I believe, pick anything that's free. Or lodge with other people, if you prefer that.

[ Surprise! Luke doesn't really know all that much. whoops. ]

Well, I don't know much about the specifics. I don't think anyone does, actually. But...I guess we're here to help sustain this place. Or something like that, anyway.

[ A pause. ]

This is Vatheon. It's not all that bad a place. Just kind of weird.

I wish I knew that answer, myself. I'm afraid nobody really knows why we were brought here, only that we are.

[At that, Jade seemed to think a moment.]

Has it been discovered why we're here?

[He did not, for a matter of fact.]

Well, it seems most of the basics. Everything that's provided, as much as they can about the coral and barrier, and the 'curses'.

[He's not sure you can. Your mental skill has been shown as... a tad lackluster. However, Jade decides he'll at least see what the kid knows.]

How would I go about finding comrades, anyone from my world?

Well, I wouldn't think trust would be an expectation if you've been thrust somewhere new with no explanation or warning beforehand.

[Jade looks to the water above.]

It appears we've already sunk.

[Mission not actually accomplished.]

[Jade's frown deepens at that. Curses, being trapped, lab rats? Jade didn't like any of this, but getting worked up and upset wasn't going to do anything but make him seem idiotic and childish. It was better to investigate, find out more, and go from there.]

Have any of them been permanently harmful? It seems to me we're needed, in a sense.

As far as I know nothing's been permanently physically harmful but it does a doozy psychologically speaking sometimes. Apparently, though, we give off some energy the coral needs and in return the coral heals us or whatever. For all I know, it makes the air breathable and keeps the bubble intact. The locals get pretty pissed if you try and do anything to it.

[That's about all Zelos can stand of this conversation for the moment; he hates being reminded of how helpless they are here. With a scowl, he tromps into the kitchen to make that tea.]

I don't think I'll need to lodge with anyone. I suppose I'll just pick one and sort it out from there.

There are lots of weird things in the world. An underwater city is a bit more than that.

[Zelda watches him go with some measure of worry evident on her face, then looks back to Jade.]

It is as he says. We are required to touch the coral monthly or we will fall into a coma. If you ask me, it is a little counterintuitive. How are we to touch the coral if we can't move?

[She spreads her hands out, shrugging lightly.]

Of course, people do wake up eventually, so perhaps it's meant as a deterrent against not touching it again.

[A quietly shake of his head at that, though Minato still seems rather unbothered.]

It's still a mystery, though there are rumors that we're meant to be an experiment of sorts.

...Mostly we just live here.

Nah, I can swim as far as any boat! I mean you literally cannot go further than I went! But I'd say... it's pretty far. Enough that you don't really feel trapped until you hit the edge.

[ Anise will try to keep it short so he could get dried up. No need for him to catch a cold or something, seeing Vatheon was able to do a lot of weird things. It wouldn't be a surprise if the Colonel got sick. ]
