[dream | video ] unchained melody.
[There is a faint melody in the background, as the dream becomes more apparent. It fades to a scene of none other than Jack himself talking to the more than unpleasant Lottie Baskerville, residents viewing the dream would remember miss Baskerville.
Ah, then it pans to a more unfamiliar face. Though no one here knows him just yet, Jack knows him just as well as anyone, if not more. Glen Baskerville, the one he made the special pocketwatch with. Jack holds his hand open in the dream, the aforementioned pocketwatch settled there in his palm before Glen takes it. They both take time to admire it and the work they had done to it over the past couple of months at that point in time.
Ah, then things seem to take a turn for the bloody. But Jack wills the dream to go away from that. Back to he and Lottie speaking with one another.
The dream is drawing to a close, as Jack is waking himself. The next thing to appear is Jack at a piano, a usual sight. This familiar melody is being played by Jack himself until he tosses in his sheets and sits straight up.
He doesn't want to face him, not when he knows what he had done.]
Glen, I know you're here. [Jack seems distant about saying such however.]
((ooc note: Jack's dream is based around him realizing Glen is in the bubble. This is sort of like a pre-intro for Glen, who is played by our lovely Mika! Feel free to respond any which way, Dreamwalking is NOT AVAILABLE in this dream!I spent too much time picking out the best piano version of the pocketwatch theme guys...))

It's something he doesn't understand at all; confuses him.
Then there's something in the way Jack so openly calls him out as well. He's never seen the man look so distant, wearing some kind of smile. It'd become so common in the household for him to be hanging around with some form of smile so this really was as serious as he suspected it to be. ]
...I see my presence cannot go unnoticed for long here.
[ A deliberate pause in which he regards the blond quietly. He's never been one to skirt around things so he gets right to it quite bluntly as usual. ]
Never had I reason to raise my sword to you, Jack. That has not changed. Is there something you have not told me?
| Video |
But he had to face Glen some time or another.]
It's past the point of explaining, Glen. Whatever I may have to say on the matter would be prancing around bushes. I don't believe you or I could have a proper conversation about this without one of us becoming angry with the other.
There is to be no offense towards you, of course. [Jack pauses and thinks about the things he has to say to Glen. He gets up from his bed, the Dreamberry going with him still rolling the video. He retrieves something from atop a piano.]
Never had you any reason to raise your blade towards me Glen, neither did I. But the fact of the matter is that it did happen. If you have no recollection of the event, I assume you've either snatched a case of amnesia or perhaps it hasn't even happened for you yet. [Jack pauses.]
In any case, welcome to Vatheon, I myself have been residing here for a a little over one year and 4 months. Perhaps if we really wish to deviate from the original topic, you can think of something; anything really pertaining to this place. I will be glad to answer those things for you.

It happened?
Just so many questions and they almost made his head hurt. A sigh left his lips and he attempts to organize his thoughts enough; none of any sort of mental conflict or what he's thinking ever showing on his face past that nearly emotionless face of his. Jack had always been peculiar, but in a way always cheerful around him in some form so this was something he wanted to ask about but was smart enough not to say anything about it.
Yet.
Then there was Jack saying he's been here over a year and some when he clearly remembers seeing him only a moment ago at home. It's with that and the attempt to stray from this topic that his brows furrow that slight bit; it's annoyance. Something he's not adverse to showing too often but it's hard not to. ]
Jack.
I have learned what was necessary upon arrival.
[ Glen's tone is almost stern, more than usual and his gaze never leaves the screen. Whatever that was that happened - that hasn't happened yet in his case - he can tell it's what's making Jack so... standoffish. No, he doesn't like the idea but hiding behind false smiles and pretending like things is okay was never something he'd done. ]
Deviating from the subject is not going to change anything. If it has happened then tell me. Deviating from it to allow it for another time is unnecessary.
If I wish to know more of my present location then it can be done afterward.

Saw that dream. The dream was likely the kicking off point for both of them. The entire Network saw it. He bites his own lip a little befoer turning his attention back to the camera. Jack clicks around the Dreamberry until his feed has been set to Private for Glen.]
The Tragedy of Sablier. There were a lot of things that happened that I tend not to remember. Most of why it even happened is a mystery now, to me anyhow. I willed it out of my mind many months ago.
One thing I do remember is you and I crossing blades. The reason for that is also a mystery. I don't wish to remember that day too much. Forgive me for rambling off about this. I don't think anything I say right now will be relevant, or anything you're going to remember. It's liek talking to a brick wall if you will. [Jack is swallowing, his mouth has gotten awfully dry by the time he gets through with that sentence.]
Where are you? I believe some of this conversation would prove to be more effective if we were face to face. Which we are not right now.
[Jack wasn't going to lie, he hadn't spoken or seen Glen since any of the previous events he had mentioned. Jack hadn't wanted to face Glen, however, he could deal with a newly discovered confidence to be dealing with his own problems. It had been such a long time since he had even had one. The last person to bring up any of these topics was Mister Hatter, and it was a conversation worth having. Who was Jack, was was he here, was he never afraid of anything?]
We will stray from this topic no longer, if that is what you wish to do, Glen. I understand your frustration not only with this place, but with me. It's not like I feel any better than you do right now.

Not in that he believed Jack was lying to him but just the sheer idea that where they stayed, where the source of that bloodshed had happened in that dream had supposedly come from this tragedy. It seemed serious enough that Jack had really blocked most of it from his mind, simply speaking of it all now and saying it's something he 'won't remember'.
He's quiet; moreso than usual for a moment as he allows it all to sink in and he collects his thoughts. Then he nods wordlessly in response, eyes dark with the thoughts running through his mind before it shifts and they're unreadable again. ]
...I believe I am at the plaza.
[ A fervent pause lingers afterward. He always did speak so much more around Jack rather than anyone else. ]
Speaking face to face will be easier on the both of us. I'm glad to see you are no longer going to avoid this topic, and once it has been discussed and dealt with then you may do with it as you wish.
| Video | Private filter. → action.
Avoiding a subject like the tragedy was the stupidest idea Jack had ever had. He stepped lightly and swiftly from his home and started heading down the street.]
I will be there in a moment. [He shuts off the video aburptly, taking a deep breath before head on into the Plaza itself. Perhaps Jack had takena few longer routes along the way to avoid talking a little longer. But this was a thing that needed to happened. Jack takes his first steps into the plaza and it seems like time has slowed. His heart is beating out of his chest- and he is eternally afraid he will have to admit to his wrong doings.]
I'm not a hero.. [Jack mumbles along the way.]
Glen. [He calls out softly once he approaches the man. The only noticeable difference is that Jack's hair frames his face more snug than usual, and it is tossed over his shoulder in a ponytail that goes far past his midsection.]
action.
Glen was patient and he didn't mind the time alone to think and the more he did, the more he found that the sounds of the tragedy and what he'd seen of it, unnerved him. A nagging feeling pulled at the back of his mind but he paid no mind to it, eyes closing for just a second before he eventually heard that familiar voice speaking his name.
When his eyes opened once more and settled on the approaching blond, he can believe Jack's truth about him being here as long as he had said. Not that he hadn't before but in person was an entirely different story altogether. The way his hair framed his face and how he held himself were slightly different, however one thing was so different.
Jack's eyes.
They weren't those clear, reflective eyes that one could only see themselves in rather than who Jack really was, but they were so much more readable. He could see more of the man than he had in his time of knowing him at home. ]
...Jack. You've changed.
[ Glen means it to be more than the man's appearance alone, violet eyes wordlessly staring into those green ones. His observant nature's been noting so many things already by this point. ]
If you are afraid, there is no need for it.
action.
Jack kept his distance though. It seemed Glen was already onto him about something. His eyes? Jack never thought anything of it? Had his emotions become readable through out the year and a half he'd been here? Had he really been doing nothing more than fiddling around here and getting much of nothing accomplished.
Jack covered his eyes a moment, before uncovering them again.]
I've changed? Perhaps.
[then it just hit him like a ton of bricks.]
Afraid? I'm not afraid. I refuse to let that be anything that comes true here. [But Jack was terrified. Glen was going to kill him in his sleep, or reject friendship. Anything but be near and put up with Jack again. Why was he even dealing with this...]
It's normal for people to change. Are you suggesting I've changed for the worst?
action.
No. As you are, I believe it would be a positive change.
Here... I can see you, Jack. No longer are you hiding yourself behind those eyes of yours like you had before.
[ Just like when they'd first met. This time though, he can see Jack. Not anyone else or the infallible mask the man had put on. ]
action.
He was secluded here. With everyone he cared for. Alice, who was gone. Oz, who was also gone, and occasionally Break. Was he gone too? Were Jack and Glen the only two here from that realm?]
Hiding myself? I don't know what you're talking about. I've never hidden myself. [No Jack, that isn't true. Remember thought bubble week?]
action.
[ Glen seems quite calm, seeming to believe that but the look on his face says entirely otherwise. Jack's always been an enigma to him and he's always had this strange fascination with him and that was part of what lead him to befriend the man.
Friend. It was still such a foreign word to him. He enjoyed his personal space more than anyone and everyone else was so lively but it was still just Jack whom he couldn't figure out. Yet maybe now that Jack was here, it could mean he would be able to understand really what kind of man Jack Vessalius really was.
Which lead to him remembering what they came here to talk about. ]
I would like to continue our conversation from before. You did say it would be more effective to discuss it in person, did you not?
action.
[Jack is making sure not to make eye contact however. He can't. He would be heartbroken to make any direct eye contact with Glen. It would be devastating to the mental wall he'd been building for the last year and a half.]
Ask your questions, and I shall answer them justly.
action.
He really does wish to know of what happened then and there's so many places to start and then there's emotions that bubble beneath the surface that follow each question he wishes to ask. Never before has Jack essentially been so vitally important to him.
Call it simple curiosity or that want for what one could call possibly closure? Glen really couldn't say but he refused to linger on it any longer than necessary. So with that, he gives a quiet nod and presses forward, getting right to it and not even so much as missing a beat. ]
This tragedy. Jack... [ A careful pause, eyes narrowing and he turns his own gaze away from the blond before him. ] Do you know who was the one responsible for it's start?
action.
I can tell you that fingers were pointed at you, the blame was put on you and I was dubbed some hero for...a shameful act I committed. It pains me to even say what happened in that room.
[Jack is trying to turn away.] A lot of people died, Glen.
action. ] sorry for any fail OTL
It was something that couldn't be controlled. He's quiet, watching as Jack steps closer. What could he even say to such a statement that people are under the assumption he would start something so awful.
Such was the last thing he wished for.
Then again he doubted even Jack wished to be called a 'hero' by the sounds of it either. A pause lingered once again before Glen reaches a hand out and took a step forward as to place a careful hand on Jack's shoulder. At best it's hesitant, but turning away from this was not going to help; even he knew that as much. ]
...It may pain you to do but I need you to tell me what had happened in that room.
[ Glen's expression is quite grim; if not almost stern. The more about this Tragedy he heard, the less he liked about it. He hadn't particularly liked hearing about it at all but this had to be done.
No more skirting around it. Why would people have been killed? Why was he the one people had put blame on?
So many things he didn't have answers for. ]
this tag will be short.
This may change things between us.
[He paused for a very long time.]
Glen, I killed you.
