Lesson Three | Confirming Something | Video

[He knew already; he'd sensed it before he'd even gone looking for her. The bond he had with Aqua had been cut off almost painfully, the warm, powerful Light it lead to simply no longer there.

Still, he had searched the city; he didn't call his Glider, not wanting to show it off in this place. For a few hours, he had searched fruitlessly, not finding any sign of her.

Finally, just to confirm it, he had searched through the SFC directory, and hadn't found her name. He couldn't keep trying to fool himself.

It's a troubled expression and a low, carefully neutral tone that doesn't quite mask the sadness he is feeling that Terra uses to make the announcement.] ...To everyone that knew her... Master Aqua has returned home.

[Riku is silent for a moment, knowing this pain that his teacher is more than likely going through right now. He knows it too well, in fact- having felt and sense his own friends arriving and departing for will over a year and neither of them remembering their time here previously when they did show up again. Because of it, he had to say something, at least.]

...Would you like some company?

... yeah. [That low, carefully neutral tone isn't so neutral anymore; the sadness is a bit more prominent, as well as... guilt? Not a lot of it, but it's there.

Without much pause, he gives his address.] I've got a place in the Vita Apartments, on the first floor. Third room.

[There's a longer pause, before the final word is said, almost inaudible.] ... thanks.

[Riku nods faintly, even though it's unseen as he pulls on his jacket. The coat can stay home, because he's not hiding anymore. Not when his Master needs a friendly presence, even if it's darker than he remembers.]

Alright. I'll be over soon. [He pauses, the faint hint of a smile crossing his lips as he hears that last word. Darkness had affected his hearing and sense of smell, after all.] No problem.

[Because he knows how you feel far, far too well. Soon enough, there is a knock on Terra's door. If nothing else, he'll suppress the dark for Terra right now.

[And this is Terra answering the door, in probably the most normal-looking attire that he's ever been seen in--loose-fitting jeans, a t-shirt, and socks.

He's smiling, but it's a small, tired looking one that doesn't quite reach his eyes. He's not going to be looking for Darkness in his student now, not when he suspects how it got there. Why fault the kid for being too much like himself?] That was fast.

[More than likely, and he's almost the same, considering he decided to forgo the coat. ...Still keeping the ~~protagonist!~~baggy pants thing, though.

The returning hint of a smile is out of courtesy, but he nods as well in respect. After all, he'd seen what Terra was capable of even though he hadn't approached him as he sparred... And if it was because of his own stupidity in listening to the wrong people? Terra would be right on the munny.]

I was just getting off duty when I saw the post. [Which was... actually true for once, though he had stopped by his house beforehand ~~to shrug off that leather thing~~.]

I see... [He refrains from saying that it was good timing, and instead just moves aside to let Riku pass. Needless to say, you can go right in.]

[That pretty much went unsaid. Riku nods faintly, moving past Terra as he enters the apartment. He knew this pain well; he only hoped that he could help.]

[After shutting the door, Terra can't help the sigh, nor can he help leaning his forehead against the painted wood and closing his eyes. The company was helping, somewhat. It was better than being alone.] Her Light is gone. I felt her half of the bond our hearts have get cut earlier this morning.

I figured out what it meant, but... I still had to search for her.

[Just to be sure. Just so that he couldn't trick himself into thinking she'd just gone missing. If that were the case, he'd still feel the link.]

[Riku didn't move very far from Terra, even if him being there wouldn't help that pain. He nods faintly, taking a half-step closer to face him better.]

...I know. [He sticks his hand in his pocket, looking down. He... may as well admit it.] I've felt Sora and Kairi leaving so many times now, the layout of this place has become second nature.

I... I figured. [ He's trying to sound brave. ] I felt her light disappear.

But no matter how far apart we are, she's always with us.

That's what these are for, right? [ Holding up the wayfinder. ]

[He sounds about as tired as he looks, after the full day of searching, but he's trying to manage a smile for Ven's sake.] That's right.

[Digging his own out of his pocket and looking at it off-camera.] We've still got an unbreakable connection.

[Besides, there was the chance that she might be back one day.]
