[ Kenshin appears much more modernly dressed and behind him, Moses the cat and a Glaceon are chasing each other back and forth, scampering across the living room floor. ]

It seems another curse is upon us. I seem to have become in possession of some rather interesting creatures. I believe they may be pokemon, though I cannot be for sure. I did not speak to N-dono in detail about the creatures.

Moses-kun does seem to enjoy the blue one, which says "Glaceon" quite often. It seems to have ice magic, though I am unsure of what more. Regardless, I do hope to keep it after this curse has receded.

Are there people here who know the proper care of pokemon?

[ Kenshin doesn't really know much about pokemon so tiger dog it is, for now. ]

Did you want to play?

[Yup! He wants to play.

His tail is wagging as he peeks out from under his paw.]

[ Kenshin smiles at the creature, watching the background to see where it might be. He can't see enough to locate his position quite yet. ]

Do you like catching balls?

[Oh yes! He would like to catch balls very much! Even before Vatheon he liked playing with balls.

As in Struggle balls.]

[It looks like he might be outside as he excitedly went after his own tail. Probably the plaza from the look of the coral lining the sidewalk and an open sign on one of the buildings. He was out chasing all the things.

And he was also tempted to go stick his head in a hole. This was embarrassing.]

[ Unfortunately, all Kenshin has is a tennis ball he found at the pet store. It smells like kitty. ]

I shall be to your location shortly.

[Thats okay! He likes kitty too!

He cocked his head to the side, but decided if the dude said he'll be there, then he must know where Hayner was. He barked.

And by the time Kenshin arrived, he'll probably find the tiger dog chasing a stray leaf.]

[ Kenshin's very fast on his feet, leaping as he moved and sure enough, he found the creature. And soon after that, Kenshin's glaceon arrives, panting. He pets the poor creature.

Kenshin whistles, hoping to catch the tiger-dog's attention as he waves a bright green tennis ball. ]

[wow, there are a lot of people getting Pokemon here. Odd. But he wasn't going to complain about that; more people with Pokemon = always a godo thing.]

Yeah. What do you need to know?

Anything you can teach me. I know little of their care, dietary needs, or any needs in general.

[ the glaceon pops up in between Kenshin and the SFC. "Glay! Glay!" Kenshin pats it on the head gently. ]

[Hearing that makes Cheren's Espeon perk its ears up. So in the background, there's a large pair of purple ears. Yep.]

Well, if you want it to get stronger, you'll need to battle with it to ensure it grows properly. Battling is essential for Pokemon. Aside from that, I wouldn't feed them the 'pet food' they carry around here. Feed them a balanced diet of good quality food.

[ Battle? Oh that catches the War God's attention. While he didn't like senseless battle, training was essential for sharp skills ]

Interesting, the perfect companion for a samurai.

[ though Kenshin is a warlord, not a cook. His food is often very traditional Japanese too. ]

I shall see what the market carries. Perhaps some fish and rice.

[Yeah, he's kind of distracted by that samurai bit. Because what. Well, it wasn't strange by Vatheon's standards, certainly, but he's never actually met a samurai before, or anyone claiming to be that.]

Fish and rice should be fine, just so long as Glaceon gets the vitamins it needs. ...and, 'samurai'?

[ oh good. standard diet. ]

[He's not sure what an Echigo is or any of that, but it's probably best to not question.]

My name's Cheren. It's nice to meet you, too. I can't say I've ever met a samurai before now.

[ he would've happily offered. ]

A pleasure. There are a few samurai here in Vatheon, though with the growing number of residents, it is no wonder you have not encountered them.

I'll keep an eye out for them, then. [but he needs to back up, now that he's given basic information about Pokemon]

You said you knew N, though?

Indeed I did, for a short time, however. He and I spoke about pokemon on occasion.

[of course he talked about Pokemon, he's not surprised by that at all.]

Can I ask what he usually told you about them? You said you didn't speak in detail about Pokemon themselves, so I'm just wondering.

[ oh god, lemme see if i can remember.... ]

He spoke of many species of pokemon with different skills and abilities, different elements to control. He had planned to show me the abilities of the pokemon he carried, however he returned home before he could do so.

[So a general overview? That's not too bad. It saves him the trouble of explaining a lot of things, if Kenshin wanted to hear it.]

If you still want to see that, I can show you my Pokemon. They're a bit different from N's, but Pokemon are still Pokemon.

I would be honored if you would. I am interested in learning more about them.
