[Mitsuhide is still quite clearly Mitsuhide. Same face, same skin, same long black hair. There's no chance of mistaking him for anyone else.]
[But he's clearly been affected by the curse. For one, he has shrunk quite a bit; sat in his garden as he is, large tree behind him, it's rather obvious that this is the case. Two, he now sports a pair of wings. Three? He seems to be wearing a tiny golden crown. Definitely not his usual style.]
[But he does not look bothered by all this. Compared to some of the other transformations you might see on the network, it's rather tame and harmless.]
I had plans for Lord Motochika's birthday this week... but this curse has quite effectively put them on hold. I daresay he can survive another week without knowing what I have in store for him, however.
[Mitsuhide laughs, soft and fond.]
The celebration of birthdays is still a relatively new idea to me, but I suspect completing one's third decade of life is a significant milestone.
[He raises one of his hands, and... is holding a kind of wand? He taps the wand on the side of his head.]
Regardless... I am rather enjoying the gift of flight, and intend to make full use of it while I still have these wings. The magic I have obtained I am a little less sure of. It has been useful enough in allowing me to get through doors and cook, necessities like that, but anything more...
[And right on cue there is a flash of light! Luckily nothing disastrous happens, but for whatever reason a large quantity of white feathers are now floating down to the ground around Mitsuhide. He looks rather bemused for a moment, and stares at the wand before laughing again.]
That was definitely not intentional... I guess it takes years to truly master any type of magic.

Anyway... Is it the first time you're celebrating someone's birthday?
video
[ The idea is completely new to Yukimura. Heck, he doesn't even remember what they he was born in (Calenders were confusing things). But perhaps he has been too ignorant of the customs here ... ? ]
How is it different from the coming-of-age ceremony Lord Mitsuhide?
voice; BECAUSE I CAN
[a beat]
Yet my temptation grows with every fresh mention of your plans. I may well test the extent of your dedication where keeping your secrets is concernced before this week ends.
[video]
[Mitsuhide bows his head politely, and removes a large feather from his hair before continuing.]
Well, it seems similiar to one we had before? Wherein we lose our natural powers and gain powers native to the worlds of others, for the duration of the curse. I cannot complain; as I said, the experience of flying is remarkable.
[To say the least.]
Ah... no, it is not. I have done so a few times now, but it is still hard to settle on a proper way for it to be done. Different cultures seem to do so very differently.
video;
[Mitsuhide taps his chin with his free hand.]
It is... well. The examples I have seen are very different from the coming-of-age ceremony, usually a lot less formal. A party is sometimes held, and gifts given to the one whose birthday it is. Different cultures seem to celebrate in very different ways, however.
voice; HI PRINCESS
In this matter, I will be sure to keep my secrets safe.
[His voice grows warm, fond.]
It is something you should see first.
no subject
[ a glaceon pops up in between Kenshin and the SFC. "Glay~!" ]
video;
[ Perhaps if their world wasn't in so much turmoil, it also could have been their custom. ]
You mentioned that it is Lord Motochika's birthday. I shall be sure to greet him with a small gift.
Re: [video]
You're right there. But in my world birthdays are usually celebrated with cake and gifts. At least in recent years.
Video;
[Mitsuhide bows his head for a moment, respectful and aware of the loss Kenshin must feel over the young woman. He does not mention her departure, instead moving onto...]
Oh? Is that a pokemon?
Video;
[ Probably for the better. Kenshin didn't want to talk about her departure, just memories of her anyway. ]
Indeed it is. I have found myself in possession of this Glaceon and several pokeballs.
Video;
[Mitsuhide peers carefully at the Glaceon. He has a certain level of knowledge regarding pokemon now, particularly in regards to water and ice types (thanks to caring for his Lapras and assisting Motochika with his Oshawott).]
video;
[A moment of quiet, and then Mitsuhide smiles; it is a soft, appreciative expression on his face now.]
You are too kind, Lord Yukimura. I am sure he would be grateful.
[video]
[An odd expression passes over Mitsuhide's face, before he shakes his head and continues.]
Cake? I was told that once before...
[It's not a tradition he has taken up in regards to birthdays, though he tends to cook something a bit extra special for the occasion. The 'why' behind it does not make him curious.]
Do you know why cake, in particular, is used?
[video]
[He shrugs.] I don't really know. Cake is more of a western tradition in my world. But I am from the East myself.
video;
Not at all. I just feel that it is right thing to do. [ He has a small debt to both of them, in any case. ]
When should I pay a visit ...?
Video;
Video;
[Mitsuhide's smile is warm, adoring, as he thinks of his pokemon.]
We have been companions for about half a year now.
[video]
[Mitsuhide laughs softly.]
I see. I shall have to pay the library a visit and find out that way, when this curse is over.
video;
[Mitsuhide bows his head, still smiling.]
Simply let us know via SFC, and I will ensure we are home.
Video;
I do hope that after this curse has subsided, that I may keep this Glaceon. Quite an elegant and friendly creature.
[ is that from Nobunaga Pokemon (whatever that DS game is named)? ]
[video]
[Smiles a bit.]
I'm sorry to not be more helpful.
video;
... I understand. When the time comes, I will contact you Lord Mitsuhide.
[ When was his day-off again ... ]
[video]
Re: Video;
[The samurai shakes his hair our a bit.]
Pokemon are quite wonderous creatures. I only wish it were possible to see the world from which they came.
[Pokemon Conquest? Yes, it is. ♥]
Re: Video;
[ Yes! It's sold out everywhere here. D: ]
