[ video/action ] // Woren and Wyndians and Curses, Oh My?

[When he first wakes up, Peony's not entirely sure where he is. Mostly because he's migrated from the couch to Jade's bed, again. Whoops. That's not really so much a problem, though, since he has his own blanket to mercilessly kidnap and he's not managed to get a hold of Jade during the night--probably to both their benefits. What is a problem is more related to a sudden new array of senses colliding with his brain. It's so much of a problem, in fact, that he goes tumbling off his side of the bed, blanket and all, and knocks his SFC off its overnight perch. As it tumbles it flips on, flashes of blond hair, tanned and dark-striped fur appear in and out of the frame.

The SFC films him from an odd down-up angle that catches the edge of the bed and the messy state of the linens, and a long, thick, bushy tail occasionally blocks its view.


When he picks himself back up, the emperor has a look of little more than shock on his features, now adorned by two dark stripes that reach from the corners of his jaw to just below his cheekbones, and two twitching, feline ears where his own ought to be. The tail is fluffed, fur on end and the tip twitching in agitation, the whole occasionally whipping from side to side. It jars the SFC once]

Jaaaade...

[The fluffy ears turn downward some. He's impatient, today, but that might just be because what the Hell is even going on?]

Jade, wake up!

[Peony largely disappears from view as he pounces onto the mattress, though that tail hangs down and keeps twitching. Regardless if Jade wakes or waves him off, Peony turns around and belly flops on the bed, reaching for th--oh, there it is. Handy! It's already broadcasting.]

I am mostly positive I went to bed without a tail.


(Yep. Peony is a Woren in the fashion of Breath of Fire IV for the time being. He hasn't realized his ears are different yet, and he's not really awake enough to make sense of things. Presumably this is backdated to the beginning of the curse, but. Yeah. DERP I am a slow sheep.)

Many of us seem to be changed from what we should be to whatever we are now. I haven't been able to discern any pattern to it, although we can hope it won't last too long, like many curses.

You may want to consider if you feel yourself a danger to others and how to deal with that.

[As Ky is now a danger, and particularly with whoever this is calling out Jade's name. Ky has no wish for the other man to be mauled by a person in some sort of animal form.]

[A beastman very much in control of his behaviour, thank you! And he appears to be as such, now visibly relaxing a little with confirmation that he isn't alone. He glances over his shoulder for a second, then back to the comm.]

[Peony makes a mildly concerned face--never spelled good things in anything he's read, glowy eyes.]

[The bit about a change of season confuses Dhaos, but that's not surprising since this is a guy who has a grand total of three outfits.]

...It has taken my magic and much of my strength. I have retained my flexibility, but have not had a chance to test any additional abilities.

That doesn't sound pleasant. My Jade uses magic pretty exclusively and I can only imagine the kind of tantrum he'd throw if it was taken away~

[What... did he just see? Is that--... yes, that is most certainly Peony's voice coming out of something distinctly fuzzier than the man he met.

Of course Ioder isn't in much better shape, given that he sort of looks like a rabbit cross bred with a dog and some one made a plushie version of it.

[Peony stops and stares at the frame, just sort of... trying t--Is that really Ioder? They only spoke the once, but Peony is positive that's his voice. He leans in really close, just... Seriously?]

[Sorry, Peony's just going to reel over how cute this is. Just. How is this possible--how is it possible to be this cute? He grins like an idiot for a second (not hard when you consider that this is Peony), and leans back again. His ears perk and his tail curls a little, the very end flicking side to side in interest.]

Looks like! So I found out that I'm a... Woren--cat-person thing, but what are you?

Stop being on his bed, too. He's pretty sure you don't need to be in his bed. However, he grabs the blankets and tugs them over him.

Huh... This blanket feels really soft and downy. Also did he feel it when he'd grabbed that blanket? Also, why did his back ache so much? Jade finally opens his eyes to see the white blanket he'd grabbed and discovered it was attached to him and very much not an actual blanket, but a wing. There's confused staring and lifting the new appendage to look around. No, he was still in his pajamas and he was still in his apartment in Vatheon. Also Peony--

More staring because staring is the thing to do this morning.]

[Hey! He tried to bring his own this time! Not his fault Jade has comfortable blankets. But while Jade's confusing himself over wings, Peony's been chatting at his SFC and not once throwing a look back to Jade; it probably would have been better for Peony, while bouncing around, to actually look at Jade properly. Nope. The colonel's stirring and commentary draws the emperor's attention back to him, and Peony just kind of stares.

It really is the thing to do this morning.]

[The recently Woren-ified blond shuffles across the mattress to his friend's side, just kind of looking at the wings adorning Jade's back. Fingers brush at feathers, expression almost simply quizzical. Ears perk up and forward as far as they can.]

Jade, you have wings.

[...Yes, Peony. Astute observation.]

[Jade was looking at his head and reached to tug at one. Unfortunately, that meant letting go of his wing, which flicked back towards Peony's face when left to its own.]

I suppose the Coral is playing a game with us. No matter what it is, it's terribly inconvenient.

Yeah, I noticed.

[Peony inclined his head a bit to follow the tug, since pulling too hard would proooobably hurt. Which meant he got a face full of feathers. Wrinkling his nose, he moved to lean around the appendage.]

Well, at least it seems pretty tame. Could be worse~

But wings don't seem too bad.
