Good evening, Vatheonites. I was wondering if anyone else was not affected by the curse this week? As far as I know, there were a few people not affected by it. Not to mention it seemed to be quite a troublesome curse this time. I hope you all fared fine.

In fact, has there been previous occasions where you haven't been affected by the curses? It would be interesting to think about it...

I also noticed that since the last curse ended, the coral is glowing more weakly. I think Michaelis-san mentioned the coral's power changes. Is it something random or it happens at regular intervals? Maybe we should try to find this out, if no one has checked it before.

I wasn't affected by the curse. As for your other question, I admit I'm not entirely sure. Specific details from the last time I was in Vatheon are kind of difficult to remember. I'm sure there's been a time where there was a curse I wasn't affected by, however.

This is interesting information. From what I see who is and who isn't affected by the curses seems to be a random thing.

It's likely something only Vatheon itself knows, I'd say. I doubt there's a pattern. And yeah, I was here before. I remember both times pretty clearly, but like I said, some things are really just a blur.

I will tell you this. The coral's effects seem random, to say the least and just as diverse. As for a pattern, I haven't found one. Every two weeks? Sporadically.

So you have been observing the coral too? Well, I suppose that doesn't surprise me. Every two weeks sounds right. I will have to watch some more to confirm that.

[ And taking a moment to let a drag from his cigarette. He's willing to cooperate because as much as he's been given free rein to "feed", so to speak, he doesn't like it. He doesn't like being trapped here and weakened. It still feels so constricting.

Ever since my arrival a year and a half ago. Any observable pattern has finally stabilized after a month or so of sudden sporadic coming and going.

My friends and I were unaffected, this time.

The coral has been off for weeks now, since before the last group of arrivals. Hard to say if it's related to the curse.

I'm glad you were unaffected them. I would say the same for my friends. There's no particular pattern to that, though.

About the coral, I remember it being dimmer after the curse with those strange flowers.

Maybe. [It does seem a little odd that it would skip all three of them when so many people were affected, but maybe it's their being ta'veren, or Mat's luck.]

It was. But the people who've been here longer have said it's unusual for it to be dim.

I've been lucky enough to skip out on a few curses, actually. It seems to vary per person. [Granted, it was usually because he had spent portions of the week in a coma instead. But the fact still stood.]

The power level does tend to change here and there - usually seeing it momentarily at the end of the week isn't a huge deal, and I've heard it's fluctuated for some of the more complicated curses - but these massive fluctuations are... well, new. At least, since I've been here.

I'm not positive on how it's acted over a longer stretch of time, but records are being kept of its basic energy output since its first major fluctuation a few weeks ago. Nothing perfect; nothing giving us much direct information, at least. But it's at least something.

I understand. As I noticed with other people I have talked to, it's quite random. I can't see a common link to those who have skipped curses.

About the coral, it's reassuring to know that records are being kept. Do you know who does the recording?

We have attempted to keep records of the coral's activity. Unfortunately it is very... fragmented.

When you are in the throes of a curse, it is very hard to document what you're doing.

Yes, it seems most curses may alter our capability to do things. Or plain brings us to somewhere else.

I will try to keep data too. It seems more than a few of us are making that effort, so I will be glad to contribute.

I've always been pretty lucky with avoiding the curses. I can't remember the last time I was affected... maybe a year ago? A long time ago, at least.
