[When the SFC turns on, Konata's flopped on her desk. She moans slightly, and goes to eye the precious few tokens she had earned lately.]
All the work here is so boring. I don't want to do any desk work, and the people at the restaurants looked at me weird when I asked if I could come into work in cosplay.
The things I do for my anime and video games...
[She's acting like she's dying - but of course, she's not. Silly girl.]

If work in costume is what you are looking for, perhaps the Amusement Quadrant would be more to your tastes?

[It has to be specific.]

Don't amusement parks usually have mascots to dress up in, though?

Of course it's that good! Anime should be something that everyone tries at least once!

Yeah! I said everyone. When I say everyone, I mean it.

Why would you go to work in cosplay? Unless you wanna work at a maid cafe...
video;
Because then you can get into character and really enjoy it! I worked at a cosplay cafe at home.
[Best thing, okay.]
video;
Oh, right! Cosplay cafes, I forgot about those! There weren't a lot where I lived.
... I don't think there are any here, though. Which sucks, 'cause you'd probably be perfect for 'em!
video;
I know. It's the only job I've ever had that wasn't completely boring.
I mean, I even have to act like myself if I want to be a waitress somewhere!
[Oh the horror.]

And people here don't appreciate cosplay, if they even know what it is.
[video]
[Weeps. That statement is so sad but true...]
I can't believe this place! Never hearing of this stuff...where have they been, under a rock?
[video]
[ horribly true. and finally someone agrees with "living under a rock"! ]
Fuck yeah, they have! Most of the people here haven't heard of anime or video games! It's like we're stuck in last fucking century!
[video]
We just have to bring culture to Vatheon! They just don't know what they're missing.

[OKAY. Well here we.]
There are several types of video games. There are arcade games, where they're in a giant box with directional arrows and buttons. Then there are console games, which are generally small box-looking things that you can put a disk in to play on your television. The third type of video games are handhelds--[She reaches over to get her DS (which had survived the soaking) and holds it up for Mithos to see.]--and they're like this!
[She flips it open, showing him the buttons, the screens, and the stylus.]
[ video ]
Can you show me how it works?

*Rita's only introduction to video games was a very weird arcade...*

[At least she knows. Kind of.]

I never would see that as something worth a job you don't like...

Anime is animation done in a Japanese or Asian art style. Video games are games that are split into three types: arcade, console, and handhelds. In an arcade, they're basically in giant boxes that you play the game on with buttons and joysticks. On consoles, they're much smaller boxes that you put a disk in, and you actually have a controller for that. Handhelds are like this--[She pulls out her Nintendo DS again and opens it, to show her the screens and buttons.]--and for those, you put a cartridge into them to play them.

It sounds like a waste of time.
