[Guess who's back to his old grumpy Lombax self? You'd think he'd be a little more relieved than he looked right then and there, auburn eyes narrowed and ears folded back threateningly.]

I want a status report of one Nunnally Vi Britannia. Several attempts to contact her SFC have gone unanswered, and with what happened in this recent curse...

[He cuts off, glancing off to the side and muttering something foul in Lombaxian.]

And I don't want to hear she's 'vanished'. I want solid, viable proof.

She's not gone. Nobody is simply gone.

If her name does not show on the contact list, then she is no longer on this world, nor in this city. She has in all likelihood been sent back to the world she came from.

[Short and straight to the point. How do you like that report, Mr Lombax.]

[The nice thing about being a Nobody is he doesn't have to care if you like it or not.]

Feel free then to waste your time looking all over the city and the island then. You won't find her. When the city sends people back home, they leave without warning. If her name is no longer listed, that means she is in fact gone from this place. There's nothing you can do to change that either.

There is not a way. Refuse all you want, it will not bring her back. She is gone if her name does not appear on the list. Nothing you do will change that.

[My, what terrible language you have today, Azimuth-san! If she didn't know any better, she would have sworn you were angered instead of simply being in denial.]

What is there to offer should the one you seek be absent?

[She smirks, the foggy screen obscuring her voice and face. What is conventional anonymous settings when this was much more entertaining?]

The greeting is only the beginning of an inevitable departure. Surely you must know this.

No the city judges. Those that control the city, control the list. I have noticed that those not on the list can not be found anywhere. Therefore those not on the list do not exist on this world. And therefore they have been sent away from this world, and one does hope back to their own world. Do you really want her to be stuck here forever? Shouldn't you be glad she's been sent back to her home?

That's the way things work around here. I've been here for almost two years and even I don't get it. I lost my best friend twice cuz of it and we shared an apartment, then a guy I was dating way back when disappeared the same way. I dunno why or how it happens, but... I dunno.

There is nothing we can do for them if they are, so why torment yourself with thinking that? Simply assume she's back home and be happy she's left this experimental city. Or if you choose, hope she returns some day with her memory of her last visit intact.. your choice.. but you should realize that she is in fact gone, and there's nothing at all you can do about it.

[Well, she could... or she could give a hint of some sort.]

"-in this place, it would seem as though time is even more of a fickle concept."

[The last words she'd sent to him over the network; she recalls that conversation well.]

Ones time could be extended indefinitely, or halted for what may seem to those who are mortal to be an eternity. The time for departure is always at hand. Whether it be by the decisions of this realm, or by other means...

I don't know, dude. The only advice I can really offer is to wait a few more days and see if she turns up again, but if there's no sign then it's probably just better to accept that she's gone home.

They go home, Alister. One of the guys I knew went home and came back. ...Time just freezes while you're here and then as soon as you get kicked outta this world, it resumes back where you came from. Using me as an example, if I went home? I'd go right back to being dead.

No, I'm afraid you misunderstand...

[The smirk becomes a little more clear as they speak, the voice most definitely female. Other than that-]

Hmhmhm... Time is a friend, granting opportunity to live and spend our existences with those we come to cherish. However short the path may be.

This Nunnally's time here seems to have run its course for now. It is a common occurrence here. After all, I too have seen two from my own world vanish from this place...
