First Shot // cadets and gun advice.

[Riza should, on all accounts, still be resting, given her back was only recently burned to destroy the hidden tattoo there. Then again, Riza Hawkeye and bed rest never did go hand in hand...

Either way, she's up and about and has found what looks like a gun shop.
]

I'm wondering if any of you have firearms knowledge as while I have found several gun models here that I am familiar with, there are certain ones that seem quite foreign. [Riza holds up a desert eagle then a standard issue police handgun with her right hand.] I can't help but wonder if such models would offer better protection in the long run or if I should stick with what I've been trained in. Any help in the matter would be most appreciated.

I'm also curious as to why I was sleeping for two weeks, seemingly without any ill effects. [B|] Is it normal for such a thing to occur?

Woke up elsewhere? Were you moved?

[Oh Vatheon, you and your whacky ways don't sit well with Hubert at all. To fall asleep at random with only the hope that your friends will care for you in that moment... it's disturbing to think about.

He sighs and dismisses it for the moment, holding up his dual blade staff.

Certainly doesn't look like a gun, does it?

That is until he breaks it apart at the center, and with a flick of his wrists the two blades snap back easily in to two very oddly shaped but distinctly fire arm-like guns.]

This. Among others. Admittedly mine is unique even to my world - dual blades are not common due to their high learning difficulty, but that's not to say there aren't easier guns to learn.

video; it's fine!

I see.

Surprisingly effective, actually, though I'm not entirely sure if some one not from my world would be able to use them. It does take a certain component that might not be available to them.

Of sorts. The energy of my world is called eleth, and it is something that can be manipulated by certain individuals. Having a natural aptitude helps, yes, but it's capable to be taught and learned as well.

Teach you?

[Both eyebrows go up on the young lieutenant, but he does give it some seriously consideration before answering.]

I have no idea how that would be possible without the use of Eleth here... though I do believe my brother does still have his Eleth mixer on him. And... we do have a scientist within our group...

If she could engineer something using Asbel's mixer...

[Well, now he's curious if it's even possible. With Pascal around, there's always a chance...]

It will likely take some time to work something usable out, if it's even at all possible.

[Naturally he doesn't want to get her hopes up. He knows nothing of her injuries, so of course that's not playing a factor in to his thoughts at all.

He pauses to push his glasses up with a finger, adding after a moment: ]

That said, I am attempting to start an organized training and sparring group of sorts through the Defense Force, as I've been hired on as a trainer. I could always use assistance, if you're looking for something to do in the mean time.

[Speaking of–

Here comes Pascal, popping up in all her spunktastic glory on the communicator with absolutely no sense of hesitation nor even a proper introduction. Not to mention her voice is loud enough that she can be probably be heard by Hubert in the next room over without any extraordinary effort.]

Hm, [eyebrows furrowed in thought, the gears in her mind start spinning rapidly] that's gonna be tricky, Little Bro. [However, her expression is soon replaced with an enthusiastic one. This girl doesn't exactly cower at the thought of a challenge, after all.] But since it's me, I could probably finagle something if I could get my hands on Asbel's mixer. I'll just kachunk and wawham and work my Pascalgic!

[Hubert visibly jumps and twitches at the sudden appearance and very loud voice. He merely sighs, though, shaking his head with a hand out showing his exasperation. He rarely does anything more than that, though, and today isn't any different. He simply takes Pascal's antics in stride.

... mostly.]

I do hope your "Pascalgic" won't result in a broken Eleth Mixer. Asbel would be quite upset if anything happened to it, especially since Captain Malik was the one who gave it to him.

video; (sorry, never saw this!)

You worry too much, Little Bro. Don't sweat the small stuff, 'kay? Just leave it to me and Asbel won't notice a thing! [... that's the plan, anyway.

So have a confident smile to ease your worries. Feeling better already, arn'tcha?]

I'll get working on it right away!
