Um, excuse me, would anyone here mind a spar with me? I don't want to hurt anyone but ...I think it's been a while since I last fought someone. I'm a Crystal Eren so that means I'm not a physical fighter...

[After a couple of seconds, Shirley thought about it some more]

Actually, I want to ask, would anyone mind teaching me how to fight using your fists? I think I might need some help training... [And you know, getting ready for the Fishlympics]

Since it is only training, it should suffice. I will be there soon.

[And sure enough, it doesn't take Gale long to arrive in the Park and start looking for Shirley.]

[He doesn't offer her a handshake. He's just watching, mostly, deciding for himself what kinds of things he'll start to teach.]

[It's not really that she did something wrong. He just has the social aptitude of a limpet. But he does give her a handshake when she holds out her hand.]

I can teach you the basics of unarmed combat. However, the technique I use otherwise relies heavily on kicks. Unless you wish to learn that, I will stay with basics.

I think that will be fine! [Maybe learning how to fight using her legs might be good too]

I don't think there is any harm in learning how that too.

It will take time to reach that point, in any case. Do you have any previous experiences with hand-to-hand?

No, not at all. I have seen my br...my friend fight with his fights before so I suppose that's the closest it will be.

In that case, you will have to build your body's strength as much as you will have to learn the movements.

[Gale watches, then nods approval after a moment. He'll just wait until she's done with those before offering any more instruction.]

[After she's done with all the stretching, she looks back at him]

Um...I think I'm done? That's all that I know actually.

That should be sufficient. What you need now is largely exercises to strengthen your muscles.

Oh, then um...

I guess I should run now...

Running is only one. Things like push-ups are also useful. Once you have learned some of the proper moves, doing those repeatedly will also help.

Hm...Senel have told me that doing exercise is a good way to build muscle...

It is. But it is not the only good way.

[Gale nods, then, with only a slight hesitation, starts off, not going too fast at first to allow Shirley to set the pace.]

[Running isn't Shirley's specialty but she is trying! Not to mention that she was running in heels...

However, she does try to keep up the pace and hopefully keep up with Gale...]
