I'm guessing I'm not the only one who experienced that particular .... unpleasantness.

You'll have to get the spot wet, unless you want to cut it all off.

I'd rather not get have to cut it all off. Alright, get it wet. Then what?

Get it wet, and put a cloth around your fingers. Pinch as close to the skin as you can, and lightly pull. The idea is to pull out the guts and separate them from your fur.
