How do you, personally, deal with a particularly bad misconception about yourself or something you do? Do you simply ignore it and move on, or try fervently to change the opinion of the person involved?

I carry on with my own life, and let my actions speak for themselves. Either the misconception will clear itself up, or it won't. Most of the time, it does.
