Well well, does Sleeping Beauty have herself a Prince Charming?
[Good for her! Maybe that's why he hasn't seen her around lately. Still, Zelos hopes it's someone who'll appreciate Estelle for the sweet, intelligent, and beautiful person she is inside and out.
Maybe he should meet this person just to make sure...]
A-Actually ... um. Here, let me make this private ...
[ Private Text Now ]
I was talking with Ioder and Yuri about the host club recently, and the topic came up that we've been on a couple of dates before. The two of them have assumed that you and I are ...
Well, dating.
We aren't like that, though, are we? I thought what we had was rather casual, actually ...
[ Though when she actually thought about it, she realized she wouldn't be opposed to it being something less casual. And now she's even more confused. Feelings are confusing, Zelos. ]
It takes Zelos a very long time to respond, weighing his options. He should have seen this coming. He'd been too nice to her, lead her on. It happens sometimes, though at home it was understood that he couldn't be tied down to one person, that the Chosen was a treasure to be shared and shared alike. He really should have been more careful here where people have all these ideas about commitment and relationships...
She'd said casual though, right? Maybe she does understand, then! He's getting worked up over nothing and her friends just don't get it. He'll have to have words with Ioder at least about sticking his little royal nose where it doesn't belong...
And what if it's a trap? What if she's expecting him to say that yes, they are dating, that she's his one and only? No way he can say that! The last thing he wants to do is make her feel poorly again but wouldn't it be worse in the long run if he lied now? He's not a settling down with one woman kind of guy, after all...
...but what if he gave it a shot? He likes Estelle quite a lot, in fact. She's engaging and intelligent, if a bit naive but even that's endearing. And she's beautiful to boot. Those bright green eyes, hair in his favorite shade.
He'd only disappoint her though. Someone like him? He's poison to innocent girls like her. Everything inwardly beautiful about her; her optimism, her caring, he'd end up stomping on it, his own pessimism would cause her to wilt like so many dead flowers. Better to leave them growing in the sun than cut them and stick them in a vase.]
Hah! Totally casual, don't you worry Estelle-hunny.
[He's just going to headdesk over here for awhile...]
I thought so! It seemed rather casual, after all. Thank you for clearing that up, Zelos.
[ Estelle had to wonder why she felt so disappointed about that response ... yes, she had been expecting it, and she thought that she had only wanted a casual relationship with Zelos. They went out, certainly, but only ever as friends. Why would they need anything more? They were great friends.
... but was there a chance of something more? Could they be something more? Would they work out as an actual couple? Estelle wouldn't deny that she really enjoyed his company, and that she wouldn't be opposed at all to taking things to a more committed level, but ...
Well, that was a road that they had to take together. And from the sounds of it, it wasn't something he wanted.
No, it was better this way. They were great friends. Why make it anything more? They were just fine as they were, right?
... right?
Estelle leaned back in her seat behind the SFC, sighing a little. Why was she even thinking about this? The answer was right here. His response, and her own in return confirmed that they were just friends, and that their relationship was a casual one. Why wonder about what could be when it was something that never would be?
The disappointment would fade. She knew it would. There was no point in lamenting on something like this.
Still, there was something that tugged a little at her heart, telling her that there was a reason for lamenting on it as she had been ...
That's what confuses me ... a couple of my friends insist that my male friend and I are dating, because he's taken me out on a couple of dates. I don't think he and I are actually romantically involved, though? I'm not entirely certain.
uH, 1 TH1NK THERE 1S A D1FFERENCE BETWEEN DAT1NG AND BE1NG 1N A RELAT1ONSH1P. yOU CAN BE DAT1NG H1M AND ST1LL NOT TECHN1CALLY BE TOGETHER. 1 TH1NK. yOU CAN ALSO JUST BE CLOSE FR1ENDS, tHERE'S NOTH1NG WRONG W1TH HANG1NG OUT W1TH ONE OTHER PERSON.
No, he hasn't. I wasn't really under the impression that he and I were romantically involved, though he has taken me out on a couple of dates already ...
My cousin and my close friend both insist that he and I are actually involved, however.
Being .. romantically involved with someone? I've read wonderful things about it, in novels. I have yet to really know what the feeling is like for myself, though ...
We have gone on a few dates ... I think the two of us may have skipped the part about confessions.
It has always seemed very casual, with him and I. I never thought we were in a relationship or anything, but the topic came up and my cousin and friend both insist that we are.

Maybe your cousin and friend saw something else in your relationship and are mistaken?
