[And there was Demyx greeting everyone tonight! He was wearing his cloak, but one could tell from how low it was zipper that he wasn’t wearing a shirt beneath it. Demyx was wearing this triumph smirk.]

Evening Vatheon. I’ve got something to show ya. Went and had something done and was curious of your opinions.

[And ziiiiiiiiiiiiip.

The cloak was fully removed to show off Demyx’s bare chest and his new hip tattoos!

For those who knew what a tattoos look like, they should note that it looked brown when compared against his black pants. He turned slowly to show they scroll up his sides.]

Also I got one on my right butt cheek if anyone wants to see. [And he tossed a wink over his shoulder at the feed.]

[Have a sea dweller staring at you, Faris. Or technically at the image in the screen of his SFC, whatever! He's dressed plainer than the icons would imply (like hell he was going to go around in a cape this week), and his hair is on the messy side.]

[The fins on his face are flared up unevenly, matching the quirk to his eyebrows.]

You got Demyx's body tattooed? Did you bother to ask him if he was okay with it first, because if not, way to put a permanent design on someone else's skin without permission, dipshit!

[Sorry, he really doesn’t mean to laugh at you.

Okay. He does mean to laugh at you.] Looking a bit on the messy side of things, bucko. [“Demyx” will hold his hands up on either side of his neck to imitate the fins.]

Tattoos are pretty much pretty scars they put on ya. They would be taken care of using the coral but it might take out this one too. [He touched the scar on his cheek.] That would be if they really were tattoos. [Grinning.] These ones have a bit of a secret to them, but the blond won’t know about it.

[Rude! Karkat glares for that, fins folding back with a mix of irritation and embarrassment.]

I'm not used to this body, and like hell I'm going to stand in front of a mirror for an hour trying to figure out hair products I don't regularly use just to get this mop into something halfway organized, much less the usual style this body's owner wears it in.

Second, not once hawe I seen the coral undo a real scar, and I use it regularly. But if they aren't tattoos, then what are they?

Personally I think I like the mop look.

[Rubbing his chin as he put on a thoughtful look.] Maybe ya have to want it? I just know it's supposed to work miracles or heal ya to brand new if you want. [A pause.] As brand new as you arrived I suppose. Some daft things were out there testing it. Don't think it'll work for the hair though.

[Poking one of the brown music notes.] Henna. It's like staining your skin for close to a month.

[Faris... likes it? He picks at his bangs a bit, but lets the subject drop.]

It's not that simple. If it were as easy as wanting it fixed, I can tell you this eye wouldn't be blind.

[He points to the right one, which ~~unlike the icons~~ has a scar over it. Not scarred shut, mind you, but it's no good for sight.]

It definitely helps the healing process, I'll tell you that much, but it's not perfect.

[His fins perk at the last bit.]

Then I guess that's better than something permanent, but it's your fault for not explaining that in the post proper.

Good to know. I'd pass that on to this one, but not sure what little daft thought will pass on through his head. He's a bit sensitive about the scar.

[He can watch those fins all day.]

That's kind of the point. He's making full use of being in my body. Decided to give him a bit of a hard time back.

[Karkat's head tilts slightly to the side, curious at that remark. But being no stranger to sensitivity about scars himself, including with this body's owner, he lets that subject pass.]

[Ahem. Though actually--he pauses, video cutting out for a moment, then returns with a filter.]

Is he? He's a good guy if a bit of a dumbass, from what I know of him. What do you think about him?

[In other words, is that romance he smells brewing?]

[Ratchet can't help but stare. Okay, this is getting weird again. Of course, when isn't this place either frightening or weird? Anyway, back to the tattoos at hand.]

Felt like it. [And Demyx was playing with his body. Might as well return the favor.]

[Turns back around to show it off.] Better?

Much better. [He tilts his head. Creative though it seems kind of unlike Demyx? He isn't sure. He doesn't know the guy all that well. Anyway...]

No. I thought he told you we weren't related.

[A shake of his head.] Nah. We've never got in to family relations kind of conversation. He might have spoken to my mate though. [At "mate" he pointed to himself.]

There isn't much I can gain from being a mean pirate here. Seen the ghost ones yet? They love sharing a story or two of their glory days. [Or it's all drunk ramblings. Still entertaining.]

I've met robot pirates and ghost robot pirates. Both times they tried to kill me. I didn't get to hear any good stories.

The ones inhabiting here aren't robots. Think they are from this place's history. Or maybe they were brought here like the rest of us, but accidentally for their case. Wouldn't want to bring a whole ghost ship down here, would ya? If you do decide to get brave and scope 'em out, they are off the lower district. Head South-west.

I've taken out a whole armada of ghost pirates on my own before. Piece of cake. Maybe I'll go down and challenge their captain to a fight. If I win, I get to be captain. That's how it works, right?

Perhaps. I know a few people even tried living on their ship. Can't say if it's occupied any more though.

Only one way to find out. Wanna come along?

[Chuckling as he considered it.]

How about we go after you get your body back? I doubt Demyx will be happy with the tattoos. He'll be even less happy if you get his body all messed up in a pirate fight.

[Point. Even if they weren't real.]

Sure. We'll make a day of it. [There was a pause.] Would offer to take him along but he doesn't care much for 'em either.

Maybe we can convince him to come along. The more the merrier in a pirate battle, right?
