I seem to have gotten myself into quite a pickle.
Not only am I soaking wet, which is nearly ten times as worse when you have a long gown on, I am also freezing.
Can anyone tell me where in good heavens name I have ended up?
Direct me to some warmer clothing?
[Yeah, Jane looks like a drowned rat. This is not how she imagined she would be spending this day.]

Well. that they would be calling home until the underwater bubble willed them away. She's kind of nervous to walk in. But after reassurance she opens the door handle, and steps into the house. It's a wonderful looking house. Nice couch, nice living room, nice Dirk in the living room.
Oh...
She looks relieved for some reason. More relieved than she's ever looked in her life. She just pulls a little grin.]
Hey. Nice house we have here. [Yeah, best greeting.]
[action]
Okay, it's not that great of a house. But it's a house and it's theirs and they live in it together, and honestly that's been pretty great.
There won't be much time for Jane to examine the state of the house, because Dirk is pushing himself up from the couch to amble over to the door.]
It's swank as fuck is what it is.
[And now, because it's suitably ironic, Jane will be getting a one-armed Strider hug.]
Nice to see you, Crocker.
[action]
Honestly she's terrified at the amount of liquor bottles. The house is theirs, and they call it their own. It's wonderful.]
Very homey, I like it.
[Dirk is getting a gentle two-armed Jane hug. Considering she just witnessed Jake holding Dirk's severed head, she's kind of glad he's standing right here. Not to say he wasn't there in his derse pajamas with them.
It's just that she clearly didn't have enough time to process all of that.]
It's nice to see you too, Strider.
[action]
They've had months to pile up it's not as bad as it looks, really. It's been a while since Dirk's seen that, but it's still not the most comfortable thing in the world, seeing your own decapitated head and remembering what you felt while doing the decapitating. Mostly, the hug is because it's been a while since he's seen Jane. It's going to last a little while longer. Hopefully she won't mind.]
RL give you the low-down yet?
[action]
Distract her from all this mess Dirk. She might be giving it a strange look. She was still in a state of "what the flying fish just happened", but she decides now is probably not the time to even ask those questions or ention the decapitated head.
She might even give him a little squeeze. Truth be told this is the first time she's ever had physical contact with Dirk. She had been holding on to Roxy for dear life.]
She did, after she barreled me back into the cold water.
[action]
Just don't look straight at it. If you do, bad things happen.Hugging his friends is still a novel experience, even after living with Roxy for a few months. Roxy clings like a limpet when she wants to, but that's Roxy, and this is Jane. It's a totally different experience.]
How dare she. At least she took you clothes shopping, huh? She might as well have just dragged you here, with all the shit she's put in your closet.
[Except he's fine that it took them so long to get back. He needed that time after talking with Dave.]
[action]
Her urge to clean. It is strong.Hugging is a novel experience? Just being in some type of contact with someone is like a gift to Jane. She had always lived quite a sheltered like, and her only friend were online. Dirk and Roxy, apparently, live in the future. Jane is probably a lot more gentle than Roxy, given that she is also shorter and a bit smaller than her.]
She's been doing what to my closet. [Huh.] I have a closet?
[action]
[More like a ton of stuff. They may or may not have missed their friends while here, okay.
Jane also doesn't tackle people the way Roxy does. That helps.]
[action]
[Dirk is also good at planning ahead. So there is that.
She doesn't really have the energy to tackle anyone, ever. She's too small to even think about that. What if someone decided to throw her across the street? It wouldn't be hard.]
[action]
[He shrugs.]
We weren't going to kick the two of you off to live somewhere else. You're our friends.
[action]
[She kind of leans against him. She's okay with a little more contact now.]
I just would have hated it if we never made a presence here and you guys had done all of that stuff.
[action]
Statistics pointed to you all arriving eventually. Or maybe we would have gone home before you got here. Who knows. But it was worth the chance.
[action]
[She shrugged. Wow. This was a long hug. Wasn't it?]
It was a good risk taken.
[action]
It was necessary to get everyone alive and relatively safe, though unfortunate.
[action]
I wanted to say you weren't thinking. But I know that isn't like you. I trust your judgement for the most part.
[action]
[It's only partly sarcastic/ironic.]
[action]
[She finally gives him one last little squeeze and pulls away.]
Should we talk about the mess?
[action]
[With the hug complete, his hands get tucked into his pockets.]
What mess? [No, seriously, Jane. This is basically clean. This is neat and organized. Why are you asking about a mess.
[action]
The mess in the house. I won't dog you about it but you surely won't mind if I pick up the mess, correct? [....She is afraid to ask about food.]
Have you and Roxy been cooking for yourselves here? The kitchen hardly looks touched.
[action]
[But that won't stop them from creeping back into the rest of the house. They simply cannot be contained.]
Roxy's been making rum cake. We don't tend to cook. Maybe Roxy knows how to make something with pumpkins, but there wasn't much to practice with back home.
[action]
For your information, those things are highly out of proportion. [The nose is huge, and so is the hind quarters. But you know Jane is a little innocent on those things so her mind isn't even really going there.]
Ah, so then I need to treat you fellows to a home cooked dinner? It would be my pleasure.
Re: [action]
They're not meant to be realistic. [Oh, Jane. Some day you will learn. And you will probably be vaguely embarrassed to know this guy.]
As if we would object to a meal from Miss Crocker herself.
[action]
I see, well then they just look very odd. [She might already be vaguely embarrassed to know him. From even looking at the smuppets.]
Splendid. I will just have to find the nearest market to find the things necessary to cook us all a wonderful feast.
[action]
What, Roxy hasn't given you the grand tour yet?
[action]
Well, we went shopping for dry clothing and that was about it. [Her still soaking wet golden jammies are hanging outside.]
