So... This Christmas thing.

[He sighs, looking a little awkward as he makes this post. This is a weird topic for him.]

What do you do for it? I mean, how do you celebrate? Is there a reason behind the... fish people hanging on all the pine trees?

The idiots here certainly have eccentric tastes when it comes to Holidays.

[The feed was showing one of trees in the plaza.]

Need someone to hold your hand picking out gifts? Cute. [Coming from him it probably wasn't a compliment.]

The ornaments are just to be festive. You can probably find a book in the library about it. Full of pictures and every thing else you might need to understand it.

[He bristles.] I'm not asking anyone to hold my hand! It doesn't hurt to ask for opinions, you know.

Get them what you think they will like. Also ignore the crab man they are parading around as the fat jolly man. He isn't supposed to look like that.

Supposed to look like some fat old guy in red. He pretty much sneaks in to the houses of kids to drop off gifts. Wonder how far they'll go with trying to copy it.

He looks like something better suited to be on a plate covered in butter. [Mhm, seafood...]

... Do you honestly think they'd try to do that?

You have heard what they did for April Fool's, right? [Smirk.] Wouldn't put it past them to going to extremes.

If you want it to be a surprise, you should trust your instincts. It usually works better that way.

Do you celebrate Christmas?

Kind of. My friend really likes the idea of Christmas, and it's hard telling him no.

[Grin.] Do you not feel the same?

It's not something I couldn't live without. But it's okay. [ A shrug. ]

There were religious reasons behind it once upon a forever ago, but people mostly gave that up when they realized they could get free shit at least once a year from their friends and family. Mostly, you just celebrate it by being around the people you like the most.

[ SHRUG ]

As for the presents, you give 'em whatever the hell you think they might like. You can go the extra nine and give 'em something sappy and sentimental.

Oh hey! [He grins at her. Adoring cat lady. Her name was Roxy, right?]

That sounds like something I can get behind. The being around people I like the most, I mean...

[Considering this!] Sappy how? Like something handmade?

Handmade works! Or somethin' that you know they've wanted for a long time. Or like... I dunno. A limited edition something or other from some show they love. There's all sortsa gifts.

If nothin' else, clothes work, as long as you know their style.

I'm not sure why there are all those fish people on the trees.

But Christmas is about the birth of a baby! [Yeaaah, Mother Gothel didn't go into the religious stuff much.

I actually don't think there is a specific reason behind them...

Uh, yeah. You're supposed to give gifts to others for this holiday. That's what I'm told.

That sounds like a lovely tradition! I just don't really have anyone to give gifts to here...

I think that those are just for decorations... But I do know the gift depends on the person you plan on giving it too.

I'm going to try, I've never given gifts before.

I guess so, this is going to be my first Christmas.

It can be any gift! The important thing is to show you much you care other people here!

It doesn't have to be anything expensive, it can be anything that will cheer them up!

I doubt I could afford giving out expensive gifts anyways. [Sheepish look.]

But I'm sure I can think of something meaningful to give.

Are you planning on anything?

Mhmm, I am but I want it to be a big surprise until the time is right!

So I'm keeping it a secret until then!

Vatheon is ready for it but the best part is seeing everyone so happy! After everything that's happened here, I want to let my friends know how much I care!

Ooookay, that answers that. Usually people make lists of things they want for Christmas to give to their loved ones so they have a point of reference. You know, like a wishlist?

[This guy really is new at the Christmas thing.]

But most of the people around here are way too humble for their own good, so they probably wouldn't list anything even if you asked nicely. If you've got an idea of what sort of things they'd like or find a use out of, though, that's just as good.

Sounds like a reasonable and logical thing to do. [Of course, like she said, everyone was too humble for that. A huff.]

Well it's starting to look like that's what I'll have to do. [Slight grin.] Do you plan on giving anyone anything?

My son, definitely. But I'm in the same boat as you, I don't quite know what he likes either. [She laughs. It really does surprise her sometimes how little Trunks talks about himself.] He's so reserved and humble, he'd be the last person to ask anything from me.

[ And there is the widest of smirks from this guy. ]

My, my... I hadn't thought you were the sentimental sort, my dear Night.

[ Leaning forward though, fingers underlaced under his chin. ]

You've heard of Christmas, I'm sure. Most humans celebrate it as the birth of their lord and savior. Others prefer to think of it as a day to celebrate the presence of friends and family. As for presents, I suppose it would depend on who you plan to gift.

[ To match that smirk though is a glint in his eye. ]

I'm rather partial to limited edition merchandise myself. You'll probably find something in Nostalgia Nook.
