Hello! I thought I'd introduce myself... My name is Lucrecia Crescent! I've only just recently arrived here in Vatheon -- I'm hearing a lot about a holiday called 'Christmas' and I'm very curious about it if anyone feels like explaining. I'm enjoying the festivities though! It's very lovely here.

[She pans the camera a bit so the snow can be seen and then it's back on her smiling face. Then it flickers off.]

[Relief is flooding Vincent and taking away the chill of fear that had crept in, ever since Lucrecia had decided to disappear for a few hours.]

[He's still getting used to the starfish. While it functions like a PHS, it has a lot of features that his PHS does not. Video being a good example.

She's somewhere snowy...the forest?]

[Maybe it's the festive mood of the air -- or just a strange reaction to the nostalgia of the whole situation. Whichever it was, Vincent finds himself fighting a small smile.

Now that he thought about it, the forest didn't have any snow this morning. The town was snow free as well. Which left...]

Mm, Christmas is a holiday where you give gifts to your friends and family and they give you gifts as well! You put them all under the Christmas tree until it's time to open them, and then you sing carols and drink eggnog and have fun.

[They used to have something like that but it's long forgotten now. Holidays were mostly done away with when ShinRa took over everything.]

Oh, that does sound fun! Does everyone here celebrate it? I'm also curious about the origins of the holiday if you don't mind telling me?

Um, I don't think so! I mean, I guess the locals might, since they seem pretty spirited, but for everyone else I think it depends on their world.

[ Blinking a bit at that second request, though. Aoko knows a fair amount about celebrating Christmas, but she never really paid much attention to its history. ]

Its origins? Um...well, Aoko knows the story is that there's a man named Santa Claus who delivers toys to good children on December 25, or Christmas Day. Bad children just get coal instead.

...I'm not actually sure how it got started as a holiday, though.

By your question I assume you do not come from Earth? Christmas is a common holiday there. It involves religious and non-religious rituals. At least in London.

And yes, Christmas is meant to celebrate the birth of our Lord's son. So there are some religious rituals that accompany this traditional holiday.
