[The SFC screen flickers for a moment before revealing a silver-haired, bespectacled individual, who is examining the screen quite intently and presumably also taking a look at all the buttons around it. He appears rather enchanted by all the various functions that the little machine appears to have, but his facial expression snaps to irascible almost instantly, as though he remembers why he turned on this weird thing to begin with.]

There is only one person who would even be able to come up with such an elaborate hoax and pull it over my eyes - you know who you are. And I demand that this person remove this prank right now!

[He is visibly irritated, although more from the fact that he cannot leave this ridiculous made-up world and return to his idea of sanity. The fact that he has to even ask to be released is taking a lot out of his pride, but he's already tried everything. A slight mark on his forehead remains as a trace of such attempts...

Because this place is insane, isn't it? Who is supposed to believe that there exists some city under the sea and in some different dimension? Where is the scientific basis?]

No, I do not buy your silly welcome brochure at all, and the local people wave their hands around the subject just like you do. And I'm playing along with your little game right now so that you can stop this! I expect to wake up back at the lab, in my chair, and respectably dry!

[Because, in case the viewer has not yet noticed, the man is noticeably drenched. His hair is sticking to the sides of his face, and his rather flamboyant outfit's petal-like frills around his collar are flopping around like wilted flowers. His delivery of the last phrase suggests that he rather dislikes his current state with a passion - not only is he wet, but his clothes! Ruined!]

Just you wait! This is definitely going into my revenge journal!

[So, many a dropped hint to a certain individual. Vatheon, perhaps some of you know of whom this poor man speaks of?]

[The voice is familiar, feeling like an irritating peck at the back of his scrambled mind. He stares at the fellow from his perch atop the Coral, quiet as opposed to his normal rhythmic muttering. How amusing, his grating voice and this person he speaks of. Familiar? Jade is amused, if only just, and from behind him, Dist can hear the soft noises of chuckling. It doesn't take long for that to shift into what sounds like maniacal laughter. It takes just a few seconds to die down and Jade is laying now, resting on his stomach and propped up on his elbows. His glasses are noticeably absent and a grin has taken over, lips pulled back over his teeth.]

[After shutting off the SFC in a rage - what kind of stupid design is a starfish? - Dist looks around him again, noting all the people who paused upon coming across his outrage. He glares at them all in return, waiting for them to turn around and return to their everyday activities. Slowly, people start turning away, and Dist satisfyingly scoffs.

And then he hears the laughter. It starts slowly and quietly, no more than a brief chuckle, but soon turns into full-blown laughter that's enough to send a chill down his spine. Turning around, Dist notices a face peeking out from on top of the giant coral thing, red eyes flaring -

In his surprise, his haughty attitude leaves him that moment.]

... Jade?

[Jade remains in place, just surveying the man with amusement still. How hilariously upset he was. Did he really think it'd help? Of course not. He was trapped like a rat like the rest of them. And what a drowned rat he was. Wet and pathetically mad.

Jade hummed lightly in response to his name, the glow of his eyes intensifying as he lolled to one side lazily.]

Yes, that would be me. [An unsettling chuckle followed that.]

[Immediately noticeable to Dist is the absence of Jade's glasses, and that isn't necessarily because of the absurd amount of fonic emission coming from them. He's known those glasses since their creation, after all, and he certainly knows what it means when they're not on. However, Dist doesn't dwell on this too long, as that sickening, mocking look of condescension doesn't sit well with him. Obviously.]

And just what is so funny? I demand to know what is going on this instant!

[He shoots a glare back at Jade, although he's unfortunately aware of how his being drenched is probably hampering the effect of said glare. Oh, and that laugh wasn't his usual one, either...]

You are funny.

[That was apparently all he was going to get. Jade rolled over, his hair dropping to lay around on the Coral as he hummed to himself and stared at the "sky". What was going through his head was a mystery, Jade looking like he was just tickled by whatever it was.]

No need to be frustrated. You're a mouse in a trap, but there's no cheese for simpering fools.

Grr... quit laughing at me!

[And then Jade simply rolls away, and doesn't even look at Dist when talking to him! The nerve!

... except that this is too strange, and even Dist's anger can't mask this feeling he has about this situation. This is decidedly not Jade-like at all, and he would certainly know what that's supposed to be. And that emission frequency is visibly abnormal.]

And don't look away!

[Although that's arguably more out of concern than rage.]

Oh no.

Normally, this would be a time where having Jade around might actually be a blessing. But seeing as Jade's horribly out-of-commission, this arrival isn't exactly well-timed. Like they ever were well-timed to begin with.

Guy's not bothering to hide that roll of his eyes as he flips his video on.]

You might wanna lower your expectations a little bit, you know.

[Initially, he's not looking at the SFC when the video response comes in.]

Lower my expectations? How could you insinuate that I lower the quality of my work? Do you even know who you're speaking to, you insolent -

[And then he turns his attention to the screen, and sees the face of the respondent. A moment of silence passes while Dist tries to remember why the heck this person looks so familiar, and then it clicks: oh, he's a member of the Jade gang.]

You! Are you in on this stupid trick too? Are you here just to mock me? I demand that you release me from this mess right now!

Uh-huh.

[This is. Kind of really really weird. The first time Guy really remembers seeing the God General is back when he'd taken over the ferry to Kaitzur, and he'd been pretty much ignored then in exchange for mocking Jade.]

Sorry to disappoint you, but there's not much I can do. It's not a trick. And even if it was, everyone around you is just as stuck as you are. I don't think insults are going to change that.

There's really no need to lie to your face because of that, though. Right? Even if we set up a prank for you, I'm sure you're too smart for that. You would have caught on right away.

[And he's far too humble to bother taking credit!]

[Dist narrows his eyes for a moment, not sure what to make of the blond said. Is this some kind of subtle effort at flattery? Because it's rather unnerving... and irritating.]

Well, perhaps if the prank was orchestrated by you. But don't act like you're the pitiful excuse for a mastermind! Where is he?

[This man can't be that silly not to know who he's talking about, right? He wants answers. Now.]
