Day 289 - [Video | Open to Action]

[The face of a boy about 7 years old appears on the SFC; the blond hairstyle and clear blue eyes make him pretty recognizable-- at least to others. He's still in his pajamas, the T-shirt now especially oversized, but his pants at least have a drawstring! Roxas himself looks lost and confused, but not really frightened.]

Is this a walky-talky? Hello?

[He frowns a little at the unfamiliar sound of his own voice and tries clearing his throat to no avail.]

I think I'm on another world. There's all these tall buildings out the window. Riku, are you here, too?

[Another pause as he notices his bangs and pulls them farther down in front of his eyes.]

Someone did something funny to my hair...

((Roxas has been a victim of the mental change as well... which means he has the memories of a seven-year-old Sora. Oops.))

Yeah. My friend Riku's here, too, and he's really good at stuff.

Ah... you're lucky. _{[smile vanishes from his face.]} I don't really have any friends.

[A brief look of dismay before Roxas shakes his head and says decisively:]

We can be friends! I'm Sora.

Really? I'm Ruca!

_{[And the smile returns to his face. yay he has a friend!]}

Nice to meet you, Ruca.

Like cool man.

Far out to meet you Sora.

Like I'll help you explore this place. [Totally don't need to be alone after all]

It'll be fun, you dig?

Nice to meet you, too!

So, um... where are you actually?

_{[it's kind of strange talking through this thing.]}

[ Riku glances down, and... Had they both been that short as kids? He doesn't remember. ]

I grew up. [ A shrug. ] You should put some clothes on, Roxas. Unless you're going outside like that.

[Roxas glances down at himself and then back up at Riku.]

I don't have my clothes.

Why're you calling me "Roxas"?

[ Hesitant at that, he just looks at him. ]

...what do you think your name's supposed to be?

[Roxas gives him a funny look and pushes at his arm.]

Did growing up make you forget stuff? It's Sora!

[ ... He is not going to panic. He's not. Riku doesn't know what to react to first though: the casual touching or the fact he thinks his name is Sora. There's a long pause between Roxas' answer and his own, trying to figure out what he should do. He should have assumed something was wrong when the other boy had actually asked for him by name. ]

A lot's happened since then. [ A good start. Maybe. ] You're Roxas now.

[Roxas's little brow furrows in confusion.]

What do you mean? I was Sora when I went to sleep...

And you weren't so big. And my hair wasn't yellow and I was in my room and my pajamas fit.

[That really is a lot that happened since he went to sleep!]

Okay.

And we can look for our friends.

I'm not sure...

I think I'm in somebody's room. There's a lot of funny clothes in the closet that're too big for me.

That's the plan man. Come on.

[Roxas nods, nibbling on his cookie.]

Where should we look first?

[ What should be a very familiar face appears on the screen, only this one is five instead of seven. A young Sora stares at Roxas blinking in confusion at first, before smiling. ]

Are you a friend of Riku's too?

[Roxas stares back for a lot longer, ignoring the question, before exclaiming:]

You're me!

[That's how he's supposed to look and sound! Well, older than that, but still!]

Huh?

[ Sora looked confused at the boy on the screen. ]

No I'm not. I'm me, Sora!

[Confused right back at you, bro.]

But that's my name, I'm Sora.

Oh! I also woke up in somebody's room. There was a lot of books there...

_{[what does that mean. Is this mass kidnapping.]}

I wonder where they went...

[The people whose rooms these are, that is.]

Trust me, okay? It's hard to explain... [ He pauses, biting at his lip when a thought strikes him. It might work? Possibly. ] But I guess it's kind of like magic.

[Roxas chews on his lip for a moment. Magic does seem about the only thing that could be behind all this, but he's not sure why he has to change his name.]

Is it like a disguise? How come you're still Riku?

[There are some faerie tales where it's important to keep your name a secret...]
