004 - [Accidental Video]

[The video feed opens onto what was once a living room but which at this point is better described as a sty. Discarded food wrappers, game cartridges, and open books litter the floor. If Laharl owned more clothes, there would probably be dirty laundry, too, but thankfully there's just one pair of shoes in there somewhere.

A large television is the primary source of light in the room. Incongruously, a plush rabbit sits atop the TV, looking a little worse for wear.

The center of the room is occupied by an open coffin, where Laharl is sitting cross-legged, a controller in his hands. He looks to be playing an underwater racing game and, of course, growling to himself as he plays.]

Stupid seahorse, get the hell out of my way.

[It's totally Afternoon. Shush.]

[It's possible Laharl doesn't know what time it is anyway; he keeps the blinds closed because it gets awfully bright in this city for being underwater. He looks up when Loki enters. Hello, tall person.]

Hey. The couch is all yours.

[It's even fairly clean since he's been favoring his coffin for lounging in.]

[Maybe Loki isn't tall, maybe Laharl is just really short. But the fact the couch is clean is definitely appreciated, so he'll just go and take a seat there.]

Thank you. So it's some sort of game, then?

[When you're as short as Laharl, pretty much everyone is tall. He takes up the second controller and tosses it to Loki.]

Catch.

And yeah. This one's got underwater racing. You use that to control your avatar in the game.

[trickstering]

[He catches it.]

Ok. Which buttons do I push?

The right analog stick is for steering. As for the rest? Experiment. You'll figure it out.

That's not much of an introduction, but alright.

It's easy. Even Flonne managed to pick it up.

[There may not be much help from Laharl, but at least the screen is announcing that Player 2 should press Start to join the race.]
