03 - some questions [video]

[Shiro is nice enough to wait until after all the dreamtroubles to pose this question to the network.]

Just curious, but how many of you here have jobs? A lot of stuff is free, so nobody really has to do anything, but it seems like it'd get boring if there wasn't work to do every day.

[he may or may not be debating doing some real work, after two weeks of being lazy.]

[Oops, he wasn't expecting that.]

Your son... ? O-oh, I wasn't aware...

[Oddly enough, even though he's adopted himself, the idea that Yukio might be as well doesn't even cross Hubert's mind.]

Well if he inherited your skill with fire arms then you must truly be gifted!

[He can be humble. Sometimes.]

Building off of your skill couldn't have hurt, though. I admit to a bit of envy - I had multiple teachers during my time in training, but much of my own skill was honed without their aid, over hours spent at the practice fields and out in the desert.

It would have been nice to have a more dedicated helping hand...

It's called a dual blade, though the name is a bit deceptive.

Yes, but there's more to it than that. Really, it's multiple weapons in one, and difficult to master for that reason.

Oh I mastered it long before now.

[So much for humility.]

I'm just fearing my skills are going to pot. As dedicated as I can be... practicing isn't something easily done without a proper target or targets. Artes aren't something that you can just throw at a stationary targets and consider it worth the effort.

... are you sure? Artes, Mystic Artes especially, are not to be taken lightly.

[Still a tempting offer, though.]

I suppose I could keep to my pistol techniques...

[That thing Hubert did to his friend in that dream. And the first one was a level one Mystic Arte.]

Well... I admit, it sounds like a good offer. I haven't had anyone formidable to practice with for a while.

That works perfectly. My shifts are afternoon to evening most of the time. I look forward to it, Mr. Fujimoto.
