[A splinter and a crack, a bit of a splash. Yes, this particular feed isn't the cleanest to come about, and the recipient that appears none too long after doesn't look as hot, either. He's definately just woken up from... something, that's for sure, and isn't the slighest bit pleased about it.]

[Another rustling noise, and the General realizes what he's holding... or he would have, under normal circumstances. Whatever it was, it was the most ridiculous-looking device he'd ever see--

A moment of confusion, then his brow comes down. With no knowledge as to where he was, or how he'd gotten here, for it to be broadcast to an unknown public was simply, downright demeaning. Whatever was in charge, he would be sure to have a few choice words with them.]

[The Lombax sighs, pinching the brim of his nose. An interesting situation, indeed.]

If there is any sentient life out there, speak now. I'm not in the mood for games.

Vanitas. [Another pause before he steps back from the feed to show himself from top to bottom.] We're about the same height, but I imagine I wouldn't pose much of a threat against your years of experience.

[He doesn't mean that, but with his tone keeping even it was difficult to tell if he was sincere.]

Talking face to face is much better than talking on this toy. [He's opening a portal!]

You're intelligent not to challenge a Lombax, yes - especially an elite Praetorian Guard. Still, I have to wonder - what is our relationship? Why are you so willing to assist so easily?

[Picking up the communicator.]

Dismissing the portal as he puts away his device. No more eavesdroppers this way!]

I don't just say things to hear myself talk. [Even if he totally has the best voice. He will walk over to grab a towel before offering it to the General.]

You will find you have been marked by this place. There are nurses at the clinic who seem to be calling the shots.

[Looks could be deceiving, apparently. That, or this was a trap and he'd just hoverbooted straight into a crossfire. For the moment, however, the General will take the towel, biting back the instinctive urge to just shake out his fur - too animalistic, in front of a visitor - wiping himself down and taking a good, long look around.

At the mention of being 'marked', however, he stops in his tracks, immediately looking himself over. At first, he didn't find much. But pulling back his jumpsuit and armour, and he could see the faintest markings of some symbols right above his chest. The language was... not something he'd recalled seeing before, and the Lombax gives an irritated scowl at being branded by a force he didn't even know.

At least he could cover it up easily...]

--and nobody else I spoke to thought to mention this? I am not a beast to be branded!

[He will maintain a nice distance as he settled his back against a lamp post. Vanitas wasn't even watching him as he dried off.]

Everyone has one. [A pause.] Everyone, but the locals. You won't get much from them either. Think they were all dropped on the head a few too many times.

[They insist it's a pleasure to have them there, and don't care their numbers are dwindled and replenished randomly.]

I would show you mine, but it means stripping down. [Can't be bothered by that and most people don't want to see him in the buff.]

Ah... no, that's quite alright.

[He supposed he would have discovered it eventually, anyway, but a warning in advance would have been nice. The positioning of his brand was... interesting, along with another new marking he wasn't thrilled about immediately sharing. That was between himself, and what had happened in his home realm only.

Ugh. There was too much water. This certainly wouldn't do. Wasn't there some place he could sun-bathe for awhile?]

How is life even sustainable this far down into the sea? Is there an unending supply of oxygen somewhere? What about rations?

There is a tube connecting to the surface. It wasn't always there. They have to have the technology or the ability to transport objects through the barrier. It's not clear as to what exactly they can do. They aren't the most forward of hosts.

[It wasn't like magic or abilities were far-fetched to him.]

It's been like this for a few years, if not more. Seems to be sustaining life and shelves are restocked without an issue so far.

It probably should have been obvious that our captors would be outside of any attainable area. But that still doesn't make it impossible. They're out there, somewhere, and it's only a matter of ingenuity to crack the case.

I've heard a database of information has been compiled thus far - has anything beyond that been accomplished?

The one to ask would be this blonde elf on the network.

[Pausing to pull out his SFC to scroll through the list of names.]

Zed. No, Zelda. She seems fairly involved and is in charge of the welcoming committee. There is also a lab up on the Islands. [Pointing up.] If you want to double check their hacking.

Blonde... elf. [Don't you mean Markazian?]

Ah-- sure. I suppose she'll make herself known, eventually. There are still many species here I haven't been acquainted with.

And the lab-- isn't it supposed to be impossible for us to leave? What are you talking about?
