I'm not sure you can avoid it. The coral and the bubble like to play these kinds of games! It's all a part of the fun of this world.

This isn't fun, it's ridiculous. How long is this going to last? I have to know what needs to be done to protect my own sanity.

Usually about a week. You just have to find a way to enjoy it. Certainly there is something about this you like! The coral or the powers that be try to at least make this fun for everyone here.

What is there to like about everyone dressing up in ridiculous costumes and going on 'adventures'? What adventures could they possibly have?

There are lots of fun things! If you like fighting then there are monsters. If you like helping people then you can collect items. If you like treasure then you can go on a treasure hunt!

...do I need an absurd outfit to ward off the monsters?

It's all part of the game! You probably don't need it but it adds to the effect.

Calm down. You don't actually have to join in on this one if you don't want to.

Don't get used to it, though. Most curses pretty much shove you in kicking and screaming.

Sorry, but I'm not here to play games. If it serves some kind of practical purpose, I can take care of the creatures, but don't take that as an invitation to get wrapped up in these shenanigans.

I suppose if the city isn't imploding on itself, I can tolerate it for a time. I can't speak for any prior events, but from the sounds of it, the light-heartedness is refreshing.

Just don't drag me in kicking and screaming. I don't pull off feathered hats well.

Curses can be annoying, and some are upsetting, but I've never seen one where the city was actually in any danger.

And I'm pretty sure they're the only ones who wear funny hats.

...I'm starting to wonder if this 'curse' should come with a manual. I'm only familiar with the little media Ratchet was able to show me from time to time, and even then I didn't understand most of it.

It could probably use one. It's pretty basic compared to some of the games I've seen, though.

It looks like for this there's... six classes.

Warriors - basic fighters, mostly swordsmen, some other weapons users. Very little magic.

Rouge - thief, sneaky types that rely on a lot of stealth and cunning and basically everything I don't have (I'm a warrior, by the way)

Cleric - healing and magic types

Mage - purely magic, think wizards or sorcerers

Beast Master - just like it sounds like, has an animal companion it can use to battle with

Bard - entertainer, musician, usually kept around to give like... moral boosts and stuff to the rest of their party.

How's that for a manual?

I've heard the city, or this 'Coral', as it were, runs of its own volition. Maybe there's just more of an affinity towards some, rather than the populace as a whole.

Not sure if it just magically teaches you how to play or not. I already knew how to use a sword so this isn't a stretch for me.

But after it's over you could always ask some one to give you lessons. I know a few musicians from work.

Then I can only pray for the man who woke with the carnivorous beast in his room, if you're not granted your abilities from the get-go.

Though now I beg the question - what type of work are you referring to? Are you part of this Defense Force I hear so much about?

Let's not get into that. I'm broke.

If he kills it he'll be without a companion and then he's left out of everything. I mean if he wants that, sure, but I don't recommend it.

Besides, with this curse that alchemy crap he does probably won't work. I know my powers are gone right now, too.

The currency are things called tokens. You don't need them, but if you want things that you'd normally find from your world, or items that aren't basic you do have to pay for them. Working helps you get tokens.
