09: He wants to talk to people [video]

[At first, his voice sounds very tired, and he looks more drained than usual. Sleep has been playing hard to get for the last few days.]

It's almost April, isn't it? The kids would be starting school soon, back home.

[Even though he's saying that, whatever is weighing so heavily on his mind isn't directly related to school.

But a moment later, his tone lightens a bit, like he thought of something humorous.]

It's a little too quiet around here, with the kids on their camping trip. We should throw a party. Maybe a 'hooray we survived another curse' party.

...You think they would start screwing around or what? That is sure presumptuous! I mean what if it turns out that they like the same sex? That is a silly rule.

[Jade you just don't understand religious doctrine at all, do you.]

Anyway, back to your party? Roxy left behind some of her drinks in one of the cupboards. I am sure you'll be wanting that.

[Yeah, he stares at Jade for a moment. Because really, that's a weird thing to rant about.

But he'll just go with the topic change, since it's not worth the effort to fight over it.]

Why does she have liquor anyway? I know she's mature but she's definitely under the drinking age.

[Her brain to mouth filter leaves a lot to be desired. Growing up alone does that.]

She used to be kind of a drinker! But she does not do it anymore, hence the abandoned stash in our house. As for why she drank, that is not my place to say! But she and Dirk had some very outstanding circumstances growing up, and I do not meant that in a positive way.
